"Natalie," Carmen calls out from her bathroom while I roll away from the sound in her bed.

"Dude get up," she called again as I groaned. I slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes. I swung my feat out of the bed and walked to the bathroom to meet her.

"Morning sleepy head," she laughed and continued to do her mascara. I hopped in the shower for a quick one and then blowdryed my different shades of blonde hair and straightened. I plugged in a curling iron and loosly curled the ends of my hair. I then applied a little bit of powder, eyelinner and mascara. I put on plain skinny blue jeans and a black jacket with a tank top underneath.

"Are you ready?" Carmen calls while I put on my black vans and reply with a yes. I grab my bag and run down the stairs to my car that she has already started and is in the drivers seat.

she pulls out of the drivway and I listen to her go on about some guy she met at her own party. Shes so lucky that people are actually interested in her. I'm not envious of her im just very observant.

She parks infront of a little breakfast place that we go to quite often. We walk out of the car and I notice it's kind of chilly but not too bad. We are seated in a table for two in the back corner of the restaurant. We enjoy her birthday breckfast until a familiar face enters the room.

"Carmen," I get her attention as she looks up from her french toast, "that's the guy that pushed me in the pool," I turn her head to the table he sat at alone. He runs a hand through his fliply dark hair witha sour look on his face.

"Calum Hood?" she asks with a full mouth. I nod. I guess that's his name? "You don't want anything to do with that boy," she shakes her head with wide eyes as I quickly steal a glance at him taking his sweatshirt off. He has tattoos on his arms.

"Why?" It's not like I wanted anything to do with him I was just curious on what his angle is.

"Hes just a jerk. A huge jerk," I nodded and tried to not look at him while we finished our breakfast.

As we were getting up to leave, I looked at him once more, and this time his eyes were already locked on mine. I couldn't break the stare as I tried to read his emotion. I couldn't tell if he was mad or sad. And why was he staring at me?

I drive back to Carmen's house and drop her off. Her and her family are going downtown somwhere to see her grandparents I guess.

On the ride back to my house I couldn't keep my thoughts away from Calum. No matter how hard I tried.

By the time I got to my drivway it was snowing slightly. I quickly walked into the house and walked into the living room to see my sister, Nicole and her boyfriend, Ashton cuddled together on the couch.

"Hey Natalie. How was Carmin's party?" Nicole asked while pausing the movie.

"Uh it was okay," I answered and got a cup of water and sitting down in a chair near the tv.

"What happened?" Ashton asked while sitting up to show me they were paying attention.

"Nothing it was just kind of boring and I got pushed in the pool," I laughed. Ashton furrowed his eyebrows together.

"Who pushed you in the pool?" My sister asked loudly.

"Just some kid. It's fine he's a jerk." I said not wanting to name names. They brushed it off and continued their movie while I braced myself for a long week of school.
