Author's POV
It was still early in the morning when the aroma of the food tickled her nose and woke her up. She was terribly tired and she wanted to get back to sleep but she couldn't help not to see what her mother had been cooking at that time. She walked to the kitchen with zero energy.
"Mother?" She asked her mother, Hunith, as she yawned.
"Hello, Aithusa dear. Sorry, did I wake you up?" Hunith glanced at her, wasn't so eager to start a conversation with her last born child, Aithusa.
"It's alright. Anyways, why are you doing this? It's still early"
Hunith said nothing, she just continued what she'd been doing. Aitusha started to think that something bad was going to happen.
"Why don't you answer me?" She asked her mother seriously.
"Mother!" She yelled as Merlin came to the kitchen and made everything clear.
"Easy, you little Pillock! Mother's preparing my supplies" Said Merlin, then he went back to his room. Aithusa run after him.
"Where are you going?"She worried.
"Camelot"
"CAMELOT?!" She's definitely anxious.
"Shh! You needed to say it out loud, didn't you?" Merlin put his finger upon his lips, he worried if the other villagers found out about this.
"Sorry, I mean.. why?" Aithusa asked with her teary eyes.
"Mother told me, there's someone who will guide me to control my magic skill. This is my chance" Merlin answered as he's wearing his thick brown jacket.
Aithusa stayed in silence. She didn't know how to react to this news. It might be a good thing for Merlin but she wasn't very happy with it.
"Merlin, your supplies!" Hunith came in with a big leather backpack. Merlin took his backpack and carry it on his back.
"Thanks mother. I've grown up but you still help me with anything "Merlin smiled brightly.
"It's nothing, Merlin. You'll always be my little boy" Hunith hugged him and she's ready to let Merlin go.
"It's not fair! No one told me about this!" Aithusa broke the silence and rushed out of the house. She fetched her horse and rode into the woods.
She didn't care if her Mother or Merlin would be worried. Probably they wouldn't care. She had never thought if Merlin would've kept this secret from her. She might be a bad sister but she loved Merlin after all.
Aithusa parked her horse beside a lake she used to visit with Merlin when they were kids. It wasn't as beautiful as then but she always loved this place.
"Hey!" Aithusa gasped as Merlin shouted.
"How the hell did you know that I'm here?!"
"I have magic" Merlin smirked.
"Yeah, your good-for-nothing magic" Aithusa said. Merlin wasn't surprised. He knew that his sister didn't really approve him practicing magic.
Merlin sat next to her, managing his balance because of his heavy bag.
"I really need to go" Merlin said.
"Then go!" Aithusa looked away. She didn't want to show her emotions.
"Look at me"
"I said, look at me" Merlin reached for her hands, she looked at him in the eyes.
"I don't want you to go" Aithusa couldn't hold his emotions. She cried.
"Me neither. But I need to. I have this skill and I need to train my skill in order to protect you and our mother"Merlin let go her hands and hugged her.
Aithusa couldn't say a word. She just cried and cried.
"Promise me you'll protect our mother and our village Ealdor"Merlin loosened his hug and gave Aithusa a beautiful bracelet. He helped her wore it.
"I promise" Aithusa said. She looked at the bracelet, she also promised she'd always keep that bracelet with her.
"alright, time to go"Merlin stood up, along with Aithusa.
"Hey, I will take you to the border"Aithusa offered him for companion.
"No problem. You just go home"
"But...."
"I can protect myself. I have magic, remember?" Merlin smiled.
"But I've got a sword"
"You better keep that clean. Just.. Go home, alright?! "
"Alright... I'll miss you Merlin"She said with her eyes full of tears.
"I'll miss you too, my little Pillock" Merlin wiped her tears.
Merlin left her. He's heading to north, to Camelot.
