Author's POVit's been weeks since Merlin left Ealdor. So many villagers asked "Where's Merlin? " , but Aithusa and Hunith only answered that Merlin's gotten a nice job so that he must leave. Everyone believed that except one, William. He's a good friend of Merlin.
"You're hiding something, aren't you?" William approached Aithusa. She was giving a rub down to her horse.
"I'm hiding nothing, Will" Aithusa replied. She wasn't so keen of having conversation with him. He's rather annoying.
"Of course, you are! Your mother send him to a place where he can study magic, right?"He almost yelled. Aithusa stopped giving her horse a rub down. She managed to get her sword yet William noticed.
"What are you gonna do? Threat me with your silly sword, eh? Ah, you're right. You would not last a day without your sword coz you are no Merlin"
"SAY THAT AGAIN!" Aithusa got some nerves. She realized she should've not listened to William's gibberish yet she couldn't control her anger.
"Oi you two! Stop it!" A man with a beard shouted. He's Matthew, a villager who got the idea to protect Ealdor by patrolling around the village into the woods. But actually he wasn't that strong. He's a tall skinny man with a brillian mind. He's on his horse right now, with the other five men on horses behind him.
"If you value your one-month wages, you'd better get on your horse young woman"
"Sorry, Matt"
Aithusa sighed and got onto her horse immediately. She marched around the village and into the wood.
"I think we should split. Graham, Cedric and Elliot, you lads go to the lake. Matt, Dean and I will patrol in the woods" Aithusa gave the men command. They did what she said soon as.
She lead the patrol into the woods. Matt and him rode behind her. It was quiet and safe until Matt opened his mouth.
"I don't think we should split" Matt said. Aithusa gave him a glance.
"Why not?"
"It's harvest time, you dumb. The bandits probably have a plan to rob our harvest" Matt explained it clearly. Aithusa realized that and Matt was right.
"Yes, he's totally right. Maybe we should go back with our friends, Aithusa" Dean spoke nervously.
She's about to hold the march and went after the other men near the lake, yet a dozen of black-robed and armoured men on horses were going towards her.
"I've warned you" said Matt.
"You should've said that earlier, Matt" Aithusa replied.
"Oh my... what should we do now? Run?" Dean looked so terriefied. He's the youngest among the others.
"Stay"
Aithusa got off her horse and stood tall before the bandits. They stopped and looked at her with disgust.
"Don't waste your time boys because you're not gonna be able to get through me"Aithusa warned the bandits but they laughed.
"If I were you, I would run away and go to my mum" One of the bandits in the back row mocked her. The rest laughed again. "Let me through or I-"
"Wait a second, who are you again?"
"KANEN" A man with beard shouted from the middle and showed up. Aithusa guessed he was the leader.
"Can I help you with something, my lord?" Aithusa asked as her armes crossed on her chest.
"Listen up, woman. We will go to your village to get some supplies and leave. That's all"He spoke for the rest.
"Oh, so will you buy our harvest or something?" Aithusa teased him.
"No, darlin'. Buying is for losers. We don't buy, we take"Kanen replied.
"So, you and your lads must be beggars... my lord?" She smirked as a big man who guarded their leader raised his sword.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
He began to attack Aithusa by making his horse stand with two legs and finally hit Aithusa till she fell.
"AITHUSA!" Matt and Dean yelled and were about to help her but she refused.
"No! Matt, you go find the other men and Dean please tell the villagers to protect themselves" She said as she stood up and picked her sword. Matt and Dean left to do what she said.
"Oh, you're the brave one, then?"
"Yeah, and you're the one who fights like a spoiled child. Come on! Get off your horse horse so I can kick your ass,"
That big man got irritated. He got off his horse and stroke her with his massive axe. She avoided the that massive axe and took her turn to attack him. She only needed minutes to beat him down. He's laying on the ground now.
"Sorry, I think you should retire"
Boom! She punched him on his face and left him unconcious. She smiled and took his axe.
"Look. I got an.... axe" She was quite surprised when all the bandits already surrounded her with angry.
"Uh oh I didn't notice. When did you guys get off your horses?"
"Haaaa!!!!" One of them screamed and the other followed then begun to attack Aithusa.
"Let get this done, then" Aithusa smirked.
She tried to beat them one by one. However she was outnumbered. Luckily, Matthew and the others came to help. They all fought against the bandits fearlessly till they won.
Aithusa glanced at Kanen who didn't join the fight and stayed on his horse with a few other men behind him.
"You sit there on your horse and make yourself comfortable, Your Highness"
"...and see me break your man's arm"
crack!!! "AHH!"
"You will pay for this!" He stared Aithusa without blinking and left with anger. The other men who have been slayed by Aithusa and her friends run with fear.
"That's our girl!" Matthew clapped and the others congratulated her.
"Well done, Aithusa" Cedric tapped her shoulder and smiled.
"No, guys, stop it. I didn't win this fight."
"We did"
They looked proud of themselves and congratulated each other. After that heartwarming moment, they went back to Ealdor.
To be continued.
