"WHY DO BIRDS. SUDDENLY, APPEAR EVERY TIME. YOU ARE NEEEEARR." Charlotte sang weirdly.
She wasn't drunk. Thankfully. She just liked making fun of her voice for some reason.
"Hey, Charlotte! This is the modern age, don't act like 47 year old trying to think she can still win American Idol, will you?" I shouted. "But modern music is soo mainstream!" "Woah, woah. Sorry! Okay, try to be a hipster, let me know if it works out." She laughed and continued singing.
Uncle Warren laughed along and asked me, "You both are too cute. You sure you're not a couple?" "Uh, of course." I replied unsure of my answer. "Really?" He whispered. "Cause it seems to me you like her but she doesn't. Am I right, or correct?"
".....Most likely, in love?" I spoke softer, not making it obvious.
"Hahaha. Well, I'll be damned! Josh Devine in love." "Shhh!" "What? Will ya relax? You could use some fun, child." "That's why I came here, duh." "With her? Haha! Let me guess, couldn't spend a day without seeing her?" He knew me too well.
"Can we change the subject?" "Alright..." "..." "..." We just heard Charlotte's annoying singing which made it even more awkward.
"This is too much. I have so much to ask you," he suddenly whispered. "Just let it go!" "No. Have you made a move yet?" "No? Is this considered as a move?" "It depends, is it a date?" Then, I realized this wasn't even a date.
Shiz.
I'm 20 and I can't even think clearly. How smart.
"Josh?" He called my attention. "... It isn't, she told me a few, conditions," "Well, corn cakes. This is like a dumb and stupid friendly act. Surely, you'll get friend zoned."
"I know, I know. But she-" "I dare you to make a move." What? "But-" "I don't give a corn cake if if isn't a date. I made a move on your Aunt and it wasn't even a date, explain that?"
"Ugh. It's not as easy as what you did. She liked you back! I doubt she notices that I like her," "In love," "My line, mate."
"Why don't you at least try mate? It would be worth it, won't it?" He encouraged me.
Maybe he was right. Why didn't I just try?
And if it didn't, I would try again until I won.
"You know, you should get drunk more often. You speak more wise than you are." I joked.
