<Gaty’s POV>

Even though Saw kicked Donut off of me, he was still here, ready to attack at any time.

Saw suddenly grabbed me and ran to our broken down door, grabbing a baseball bat on the way.

Then, I heard footsteps coming from behind us.
I turn around to see Donut charging at us.

At that moment, Saw was barely outside, and she was already panicking.

“Quick! That way!” I shouted, pointing towards the forest.

“Are you out of your mind? We’re going to die there!” Saw screamed at me.

“When I went to pick berries there, I found a spot behind this tunnel of rocks. We could take refuge there!”

That place. I loved it. I took a lot of breaks there, and even slept there once.

Without hesitating, Saw rushed directly towards the forest.
She was running so fast that it only took one glance at my surroundings to get nauseous.

“Saw! Slow down! We’re almost there!” I screamed at her, while looking around, trying to pin point where we were.

She stopped running all together, which allowed me to see where we were.

We were right in front of it.

A tall, mossy, rocky archway was right in front of us. It was covered in little plants and vines, with insects casually flying and crawling by.

Saw walked inside of the archway. It was even darker then night. We couldn’t see much, apart from the other side.

When we arrived though, it was almost as clear as day.
A little lantern was hanging from a pole, and it was still lit up. The pole itself was covered in vines. The grass wasn’t very high, it was mostly made out of moss. The area was delimited with rocks, which were covered in either fallen dead trees or bushes. In the back of the area, there were three large, pointy rocks making some sort of wall. Fireflies were flying out of the bushes, which made even more light.

Saw was amazed at the sight.

She let go of me, too preoccupied by the swarm of fireflies that came out of the bushes.

I simply walked over to the three big rocks, sat down, and leaned myself against one of them.

I’m just tired… unusually tired…

I’m just tired… unusually tired…

My left eye has started to burn. And I have a weird taste in my mouth.

It’s nothing to be worried about, right?

<Clock’s POV>

Eggy’s gone… because of that freaking golf ball.

I’m still glad that she sacrificed herself for me, but I liked her, a lot.

She still forgot me though, before I got recovered, but she was different. She didn’t just apologize, she made me feel like I wasn’t even forgotten by her.

It’s only been a couple of hours, but it felt like forever.

The more I thought of her, the more I cried.

I can’t sleep at all, and the little candle in the tent was like my only friend

I can’t sleep at all, and the little candle in the tent was like my only friend.

I only stopped sulking when I heard brushing right on my back. Whatever it was, was behind me. But luckily, if it is, it’s obviously outside the tent.

I look behind me to see two white lights that shone right through the tent, like little flashlights.

If it were only one, I wouldn’t worry that much. But two? It was probably an infected.

All I can really do is stand back, because I left my weapons outside, which is a totally genius idea from me.

I mean, Lollipop is outside, but she’s sleeping. It must hurt to literally melt and get blinded in the process.

Oh. And to crack a bit too. I’ve gone through that. Multiple fights I’ve gotten into got me these. They still hurt, but it’s not that bad.

Oh great, Taco’s now in front of me. Freaking great.

She attempts to grab me, but since she’s surprisingly slow, I could easily move out of her grasp.

I quickly grab the candle and shoved it right onto Taco’s face. The melted wax that dripped onto my foot burned a lot, but it didn’t last long.

Taco immediately took a step back, her lifeless eyes just staring at me.

Then, suddenly darkness.

She blew out the candle. She took advantage of the fact that I can’t see well in the dark. I don’t know about her though.

She yanked my candle out of my grasp and threw it directly onto my face.

Another crack formed, but some glass just broke off too.

Now that’s just great.

I didn’t scream at all. I know her intentions.

She tried to grab me, but thanks to her eyes, I could see where she was going. I managed to dodge most of them.

Like I said, most of them.

Out of surprise, she grabbed my leg. I pull it back, trying to free myself, but she held on.

These things are way stronger than I thought.

Then, she suddenly pulled on my leg, which destabilized me. I fall down, screaming a bit, like a person usually would.

And then, I couldn’t move. She pinned me down. One of her hands are pinning my leg down, the other was pinning my body down.
Even if she was only using one hand, I could barely breathe.

She kept staring at me. She’s really creeping me out.

She kept on drooling ooze all over me, which is absolutely disgusting.

I forced my eyes shut, and prepared for the worst.

Then, I heard a thump.

I opened my eyes to see Taco unconscious on the floor, and Lollipop barely standing up, and holding a bat.

Soon after, Lollipop went unconscious too.

The baseball bat just rolled out of her hands, and out of the tent.
I really need to owe her one. She saved my life…

Just like Eggy-

Not the time for that.

I got up and dragged Taco far away from my tent. Surprisingly, there were no white eyes around me. That means I’ll probably be able to sleep after this, without risking death.

When I got back, I just let myself fall, and I just fell asleep right away.

<Gaty’s POV>

“G-Gaty! Wake up!” Saw screamed at me.

Oh right. I fell asleep pretty quickly, despite having a huge headache.

Saw suddenly backed up, looking at me with a horrified expression on her face.

Hrnrrrr… What?”

“G-Gaty..?”

“What?” I asked, a bit annoyed.

“D-Did you just g-gurgle?” she asked, completely panicked.

“W-What? No! Why would I?”

“B-But you clearly gurgled before you started speaking! A-And… your eye?!”

“What do you mean? Are you playing some prank on me? I’m not infected!” I yelled at her.

“Y-You clearly are! Your left eye is white!” She pointed out.

I looked at Saw, noticing my reflection on her.

She was right. It also seems that only my left side is infected. It’s obviously a bit darker, too.

How did that even happen? How did Donut even-
You know what? Frick this.

“Look, it’s only half of me. It’s not enough for me to go haywire and to start attacking people. I’ll be fine.” I reassured her.

“You sure? What if-“

“There are no ‘What if’s, just enjoy the fact that we’re safe.”
She’s always overreacting. At least I’m here to calm her down, or else she would already be dead.

I just hope the infection isn’t going to spread even further. Half is enough.
