<Tb’s POV>

I’ve woken up to this.

Blood and ooze all around me.

And it seems like GB woke up before me.

I hope she’s okay though.. I kind of lost control of myself yesterday.

I was so mad, so disappointed. She literally had no remorse in killing a child!

I should look for her again.

I know I should really leave her be at this point, but I still see some good in her.
She’s smarter than that.

I’m also really worried about her. What if she gets badly injured again?

I slowly got up, my head throbbing with pain.

I went where I saw trails of ooze on the ground.
She probably went this way, right?

[Time skip because nothing interesting happens while he’s walking]

It’s been an hour, and nothing yet.
Now I’m really worried..

Further away, I see a small figure on the ground. They were laying down, probably unconscious.
I ran over to them, worried that it might be GB.

And it was.

Some of the grass in front of her got pulled off or something.
She probably got thrown over here…

I quickly grab her and look around, trying to find my way back.

No matter how many times I go into this forest, I always manage to get lost.

All I can really notice is trees.

I decide to just continue walking.

I mean, where do I need to go anyways?

After a while of carrying GB on my head, I manage to step out of the forest, seeing the cave I first settled in.
All of my memories from there suddenly flooded back, giving me shivers.

I hesitantly walked over there, taking a small glance around me every once in a while.
When I arrived, I dropped GB in front of me and sat at the back of the cave.
All I had to do was wait, I guess.

<Gb’s POV>

[Again, time skip]

I slowly started to wake up, once again.

I honestly don’t remember what happened, but I ended up in this familiar cave…

“Golf ball!” A familiar voice called.

I sat up, and looked in front of me, to see Tennis ball staring at me from afar.
“Gah! What do you want?!” I spat out at him.

“I- I can explain!”

“Explain what?” I said a little bit louder.

“I just found you on the grass unconscious! What even happened?” He asked me, looking genuinely worried.

“That’s none of your business!” I hissed at him, turning my back.

“GB! If you attacked someone again, we’d have to talk again.” He said in a more serious tone.

“About what?!”

“If you keep this up, you might just kill yourself! It’s becoming a problem not just for the others, but you as well! While attacking the others, you’re putting yourself at risk for.. maybe loosing another eye? A leg? Maybe even death! You’ve been killing people left and right, ruining friendships and putting people through immense sadness!”

“And? If I end up dead, at least I won’t see you again.”

“G-Golf ball..! This is what I’ve been talking about! I might have kept you in this same cave, starved you, but it was only good intentions..! If you listened to me back then, maybe all of this chaos wouldn’t have happened..”

……..

“Remember what it was like before all of this? Now look at you…”

“All I really want is to get the old you back…”

……..
……………………
…..
.
He’s… right.

What happened to me?

<Gaty’s POV>

“What’s gonna happen?! What are we going to do?!-“ Saw paced back and fourth, panicking.

“Nothing! If you keep screaming like that, we might end up uncovered!”

“But what if you turn fully infected? What am I going to do?!”

Saw walked back and fourth even more rapidly as she said that.

I sigh. “There’s probably more survivors. You can ally with them, and you’ll have to manage on your own.”

“B-but, what if you attack me?-“ Saw turned around to face me, her expression showing something more than worry.

“I won’t. It’s that simple.”

Saw sighed and sat down next to me. “Are you sure about that?”

“I mean… no… but yes..?” I hesitantly responded, looking around, just in case.

“That isn’t helping at all!” She slammed her hands onto the grass.

“I know, but I can’t be sure! You know how unpredictable the ooze is..!”

And, as I said that, she started shaking, and then hugged me.
“Ack!” I jumped.
She hugged me even tighter, almost choking me.

“Saw! Not that tight! I can’t breathe!!” I squirmed around, trying to free myself. Saw let go, and I gasped for air.

“S-Sorry! I didn’t mean to-“

“It’s fine.” I said as I sat back down, sighing.

We both stayed silent for a few minutes, not really knowing what to say.

And, as boredom started to hit me, I heard rustling behind the rocks. Out of curiosity, I peeked out of one of them. Saw looked at me, confused, but peeked behind me as well.

It was Cloudy. His eyes were black, and he was flying around at a very quick pace, screeching.

Me and Saw could only watch in confusion, as he hit his face in multiple trees.

“Hey, Gaty?” Saw suddenly spoke, which made me jump.

“Hm?”

“Since you’re half, maybe you could try to understand what he’s saying?”

I nod and peek out of the rocks a bit more, only letting my white eye show, just in case. (If she showed her other one, she would look normal, and not infected)

At first, all I could really hear was his angry screeching, before I managed to put together:
“GRASSY?! WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?!” He sounded more panicked than angry.

Saw poked my back, which made me jump again.

“So?” Saw backed up a bit, but she was still making eye contact with me.

“He’s looking for Grassy, I don’t really know what happened, but you should stay hidden just in case.”

And, with those words, she hid behind a rock, shaking.
“Saw- you don’t need to panic, he doesn’t even know we’re here.” I walked over to her and sat down. Saw let her back slide down the rock, and she sat down, sighing.

We both stood quiet as Cloudy’s screeching broke both of our ears, and made Saw panic even more, like usual.
I could feel her tense up every time he got somewhat close, and she was visibly shaking.

After what seemed like forever, Cloudy stopped screeching, and then silence.
I peeked behind the rock, and he was no where to be found.

“Is he still there?” Saw slowly got up, but she made sure she was still full behind the rock.

“I don’t think so.”
And as I said that, I flopped face first on the grass, tired as hell.
