Just realised it's been a full month since I started posting here, so in celebration I've decided to upload this a day before I was originally going to.
I swear this is my favourite thing that I've posted so far. I hope you guys like it. Any facts or statistics mentioned here are purely fictional, just used to aid the story. This is the only part.
Enjoy!

For as long as Chaeyoung could remember, Chanyeol had always been her arch-nemesis, ever since that fateful day in Grade 6 where Chanyeol waltzed in and took the 'smartest kid in school' title away from her.
Chaeyoung came from a very academic family, both her parents were lawyers and her older sister, Alice, was in training to become one.
During Alice's school years, she was always top in her class in everything as well as class president. Naturally the same was expected for Chaeyoung.
She had managed to maintain that expectation up until the arrival of Park Chanyeol, where she was bumped to the no. 2 spot. In need of finding another achievement to keep up with her sister, Chaeyoung joined sports and academic societies, finding herself very good at gymnastics. It was no surprise when she got on the high school cheerleading team and became the captain only one year into her high school experience.
Annoyingly though for Chaeyoung, Chanyeol was also very talented at sports. Gifted with height, he quickly became a member of the basketball team, later becoming its captain.
This pattern continued in every aspect of Chaeyoung's life. If she became a captain of a team, so would he. If she got a brand new expensive car, so would he. If she found a boyfriend, the next day he'd walk in with a girl on his arm. It became exhausting for Chaeyoung, especially when one of the girls happened to be her dear friend Joy.
Thankfully, the relationships were always short-lived, once Chanyeol got his kick out of teasing Chaeyoung he would always dump the girls. Joy was no exception, leaving Chaeyoung to pick up the pieces of her friend that he had destroyed.
Chanyeol's family life was very similar to her's. Both his parents were doctors, his older sister too. Naturally, he was going to follow in their footsteps.
He always loved to tease Chaeyoung for her future profession, stating that his work will save lives and do something good for the world, whereas her's will keep guilty people from going to jail.
Come senior year, Chaeyoung was mentally, physically and emotionally tired from fighting with Chanyeol for the past seven years. However as always, they had found something new to fight about. College applications, both wanting to get into a better college than the other. This was Rosie's last chance to finally one-up him and she wasn't going to lose this time.
"Hey Chae." He greeted, sliding next to her at the lunch table, his ever-present cocky grin plastered on his face.
"Don't call me that." Chaeyoung spat, huffing at his intrusion during the one time when she didn't have to see him.
"I got my acceptance letter from Stanford. Have you got yours?" He teased, pulling the piece of paper out of his bag and waving it in her face.
"Yup, from Harvard." She returned, turning to him with a smug face.
"Oof, Harvard. You know, I've heard Harvard is dropping in the ranks recently. Apparently it's not all it's cracked up to be."
Chaeyoung smiled, having done her fact checking for this exact conversation. Be ready to be put down Park Chanyeol.
