There was something so thrilling about having a secret. Maybe it was the sneaky glances across the hallways, undressing each other with their eyes, or maybe it was that he got something the rest of the students could only dream of.
Chanyeol felt smug, and rightfully so. He was the reason behind the glimmer in Rosie's eyes, or Miss Park as the rest of the school knew her. He was a rebound in every sense of the word; the body for her to forget about her ex with, the ear for her to rant to, and the shoulder for her to cry onto. Some might say that Chanyeol was sacrificing his sanity for the sake of her comfort, but he disagreed. As much as he was helping her get over her ex, she was helping him in her own ways.
He had never done so well in school, and had never had so much confidence. Something about being desired by an older woman did wonders for his ego, feeling at the top of his game. Slowly but surely, he was mending her, his kisses acting as bandaids for the scars the last man in her life had left.
They had a little schedule, his Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes spent in her classroom, attending to her in whichever way she required. He was like her personal therapist in that way, gaging exactly what she needed and providing her with it without hesitation.
But without a doubt, the highlight of his week was Wednesday evenings. His parents came home late, and she always had marking to do, so he kept her company while she did her work. And maybe more if she finished early.
It was a strange situation but they liked it, benefiting the both of them at the same time. It was little but it was enough. Well... that was until it wasn't.
It was Wednesday, and like always Chanyeol found himself in Rosie's classroom after school, trying to amuse himself while he waited for her to be done. The woman herself was scouring through a large stack of test paper, reading glasses perched on the bridge of her nose as she concentrated deeply on the sheets in front of her.
A glance at the clock told Chanyeol it was 5:30, way past the time she was usually done. Chanyeol was usually very patient, but recently he had developed this clingy need for her, wanting her the way he had her alone constantly. So, when he was actually alone with her, he could scarcely control himself. Sighing deeply and exaggeratedly, Chanyeol slumped in his chair, blowing a price of hair from his face, desperately trying to get her attention.
But it was to no avail. Her eyes remained fixed on the current paper she was marking.
Moving onto the next attempt, Chanyeol began to rock back on his chair, the metal legs producing this squeaking noise as it twisted the plastic. It was shrill and irritating, but still no reaction from the person whose attention he craved.
Chanyeol almost gave up, almost. He had finished all his homework and assignments, had no tests to study for and had scrolled meaninglessly through his phone for much too long. He wanted human interaction. He wanted her.
A smirk crossed over his face as a plan formulated in his brain. Rising to his feet, Chanyeol tried to look as innocent as possible, waltzing over to her desk seemingly meaninglessly. He could feel Rosie's eyes raise to him as he got closer, but he chose to ignore them, pretending to examine a chart on sentence starters located just to the left of her desk. Then, when her attention returned to the papers, he put the plan into action.
He took a seat on the centre of her desk, his back facing her. And then slowly but surely, lowered himself until his body sat comfortably on top of the papers she was trying to mark, her face hovering inches above his.
"Hi." He breathed out, beaming up at her, her attention finally on him.
"Hi, Chanyeol." Rosie chuckled, a hand stroking one of his cheeks as she tried to dig the papers out from underneath him.
