"The Cog Never Dies." (Gears of War 3: RAAM's Shadow X COG Reader.)

Chapter 2: Meet Zeta Squads.

"Such a beautiful garden-only to be defiled by the unclean." Tai said.

They see the crashed Raven, and a blood trail.

"Kim, look, a blood trail leading towards City Hall." Valera said.

"This was a King Raven, that means the Onyx Guards were deployed here, RAAM must be close by, eyes sharp, look for survivors."

"Don't have to tell me twice." Barrick said.

Locust emerge out of hiding and attack, but they are killed.

Zeta Squad goes up the stairs of City Hall and goes to the front doors and hold off the Locust Reinforcements, then they hear the hammer being fired.

"The survivors are inside!" Kim said.

They managed to kill them off and get inside, they close the doors and see the blood trail.

"Whew, that was a serious ambush. I've never seen Locust use tactics like this. What's pushing them?" Valera asks.

"RAAM. And I can't wait to meet him." Barrick said.

They fight through Locust and they see the doors to the command center, they see Locust trying to open the door, they bang on it, the Theron Guards were there too.

"Survivors must be in there, open fire on the Locust." They shoot at the Locust and it draws their attention away from the door.

Carmine was behind the door and was using the hammer to kill the seeders, which he did, he then hears other voices besides the Locust and hears gunfire, he regained his strength and picks up a Lancer resting on a pillar, he puts it on his back, he takes out his combat knife and Boltok pistol, he kicks the doors open and rushes the Drone in front of him, he stabs the Drone in the chest repeatedly, he then swiftly aims his pistol right and headshots the Drone with the Gnasher Shotgun, he then dodges a vertical Chainsaw slash from a Theron Guard and stabs him in the neck with his knife, Carmine puts his pistol away and takes out the Lancer and sprays on the remaining Locust, a Theron Guard revs the chainsaw which catches Carmine's attention, he revs his and the two charge, they collide chainsaws, Carmine slowly pushes down on the Theron, but the Guard plays dirty and kicks Carmine in the sack, Carmine buckles and gets on one knee, he still holds on he then slowly brings the saws to his right and shoots the helmet off the Theron, he then springs up, the Theron was holding his head, Carmine cuts the Theron in two and kicks the in half Theron down.

"Do not fuck with a carmine only Grubs!" Carmine Yells

"Now I understand why we have Onyx." Barrick says.

Carmine pulls the knife out from the dead Theron's neck, he puts it back on his chest and reloads the Lancer, he puts the Lancer on his back and reloads the Boltok.

"Name and rank soldier." Kim orders.

He was done reloading his boltok and look at then.

"The name is Mishawn. Private Mishawn Carmine, Sir. And You are new squads?" Carmine asked.

Tai walks up, "Yes We are. We are Zeta Squad, we were heading towards the command center to take care of the seeders, but I guess you took care of them?"

"Yeah i took care of them. I killed them all. But i forgot your and squads names?" He Said

"I'm Tai Kaliso, that's Minh Young Kim, our Lieutenant, that's Michael Barrick, and that is Alicia Valera. We are also assisting the evacuation of Llima City, was that your Squad out there..."

"...Yes... My squads are there. But... They're dead and my friend too. RAAM killed them." Carmine said.

"Sorry about that soldier, we are heading to Wisen's Orphanage, you know the place." Kim said.

"Yeah. I know that place is." He said.

"Would you like to lead the way?" Kim asks.

"Yes." Carmine said.

Valara saw more Locust arrived.

"More Locust inbound!" She yells

Carmine was look at more Locust and he smiles.

"Alright. Lets do this!" He saids.
