You couldn't stand being in your house any longer, you were suffocating and you had to do something. The stress was killing you. You gathered your rod and bait-box in your car and set off to a secluded little pond that you were visiting since you were twelve years old. You were really stressed out at work recently and the only way to clear your head and find some peace was to go out to the pond and fish. Peace and quiet were what you needed and you found tranquility at your little fishing pond.

It was late afternoon when you made it to your happy place. You gathered your supplies and walked up to the bridge to set up.

You attached the bait to the hook and waited patiently for the fish underneath you to react. You were there for about 20 minutes until you felt a little tug on your line.

"Hehe you little sucker." You reeled in, but when you pulled up the line, there was nothing on the hook, the fish had eaten your bait and gotten away - those thieves.

You began the whole process over again and the moment your hook plopped into the water you saw a silhouette in the distance. The silhouette got closer and you saw a man with a rod and a cooler. He looked out of place though, he wore ripped jeans, a leather jacket, and a cap with rings piercing it.

When he reached the bridge, you politely said hello. The man gave a curt nod and stood on the other edge of the bridge, he left a good amount of personal space for the both of you. You thought it was a bit awkward, but you focused on your line when there was another tug.

"I got you this time," you whispered to yourself.

Once again - there's no fish.

"GOD DAMNIT!" You huffed in frustration before remembering that you weren't alone.

You turned back and see the stranger staring at you before quickly looking away.

"Don't take it personally," he said, "you can't always catch these idiots."

You were shocked at the stranger's comment. You didn't think someone with such a seemingly cold exterior could empathize with you.

"Thanks man, I've had a really rough couple of days and these stupid fish aren't helping my mental state."

A few minutes of silence ensued until you heard the whirring of a line - from the other side of the bridge.

"Well won't you look at that, I caught one." The man smiled condescendingly and unhooked the small creature from his hook.

"You can't be serious," you said and walked over to look at his prize. "I'm going through all this trouble and you're not even here for fifteen minutes and you already catch one. It must be a sign. I'm giving up."

You were about to walk away when you heard a voice call out, "Hey, don't give up. Come to this side. Maybe the fish can feel your negative attitude and that's why you aren't catching any."

You rolled your eyes, you were still in a bad mood, but you decided to stay a bit longer to try your luck with the other guy.

"Here, set up and try to clear your mind. Deep breaths usually do it for me." There's a slight pause while I try his method to calm down. "My name's Yoongi by the way," he said and stretched his hand out in introduction.

You took it and said, "My names Y/n, it's nice to meet you Yoongi. You know I've never seen anyone come through here before and I've been coming here for years."

"Yeah, I was in the area and saw this pond while I was walking around earlier. I needed some peace so I brought my equipment and surprise surprise, I found it occupied."

You looked down sheepishly, "Sorry."

"There's no need to apologize, it's nice to talk with people with similar interests."

"Thanks Yoongi, you've made my day." You smiled and suddenly felt a tug on your line.

"Ok, let's try this again." You calmly reeled in your line and once your hook broke the surface, you saw a shiny glimmer attached to it.

"I did it! I finally caught one!" You jumped around excitedly until you caught Yoongi's gaze. He looked at you like you were a lunatic.

"Are you gonna unhook it or what?"

"Oh, right." You carefully grabbed the fish and released it from the hook and tossed it right back into the water.

Yoongi had a smug look on his face and said, "I told you they could feel your energy."

You bowed down dramatically, "Thank you oh wise one, what would I have done without your all-powerful knowledge?"

Yoongi laughed at you and turned back to his rod when he felt a pull.

"Watch the master at work Y/n."

How cocky.

He reeled and reeled until his hook revealed not a fish - but a shoe.

You bursted out laughing at the old sneaker Yoongi had pulled out of the water. His shocked expression was priceless.

"Master of the high tops maybe, but not of the sea."

Yoongi blushed and unhooked the dirty shoe from his line.

"Hey! Stop laughing, I still caught a fish before you did." He pouts and stuck his tongue out.

By the time you regained your composure, you noticed your watch read well past nine o'clock.

"Hey Yoongi, I'm sorry to cut this short, but I've got work tomorrow and I need to get going. It was really nice meeting you though. Thanks for the fishing tip."

"Any time Y/n. Maybe I'll get to see you again."

"You know where to find me, I come here pretty often." You wink.

You gather your supplies and wave goodbye to your new friend. You were glad to have met Yoongi, he turned your mood right around and you left light hearted and happy.

You were ready to face all your problems after just one day and just one guy.
