Friday night and no plans... again. You were getting tired of sitting around at home wasting away your youth. It was currently 8:30pm and none of your friends seemed to remember you existed. Having had enough of your self-pity, you decided to doll yourself up and go have some fun.

An hour and a half later you were standing on the sidewalk wearing a black dress, cork wedges, and some makeup to highlight your features. You stood in front of a club that had music loud enough to be heard from across the street. You were staring at the LED lights showing the name Bumping the Sound as you reconsidered the idea of going to a club by yourself. You weren't that much of a drinker and you honestly just wanted to hang around people and dance.

You mustered up some courage and made your way through the door to show your ID to the bouncer. You were let through and once you opened the door, you were deafened by the noise coming from the speakers. Your eardrums bumped along to one of Usher's classic songs, DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love.

You looked around the tightly packed dance floor and saw a whole ring of people surrounding one man. The movements this guy made were out-of-this-world. He popped and locked and swung his hips like no one else on earth could. You were entranced by this man. The song was almost coming to an end and on the last note, the dancer spun and pointed into the crowd.

The thing is... he pointed right at you. The song changed to something slower and the stranger lost interest and exited the circle. He made his way out in your direction and you froze. He shot you a wink and you could've died happily right then and there.

Before you could completely lose him in the crowd, you followed him to the bar where he ordered a drink. Caution thrown to the wind you decided to talk to the him.

"Hey, nice dance moves, you were amazing!" You weren't sure he heard you over the music, but he turned your way just when you were about to give up hope.

"Thanks, it's fun to be get there once in a while." He gave you a smile that changed his whole demeanor. One minute he was basically an exotic dancer, and the next, he's a little squishy toy.

The silence between you two was getting awkward.

"My name's Jimin by the way, you?"

You weren't going anywhere so you respond, "Y/n."

You looked so obviously out of place that he asks, "Is this your first time here Y/n?"

"You can tell huh," I pressed my lips together and nodded.

"Did you come with someone? A boyfriend, some friends?"

You almost snort, "Nah, I'm alone, my friends can't be bothered and the nonexistent boyfriend didn't object."

He laughs and finishes his drink and leans forward a bit to say, "So you wanna dance?"

You notice that his breath surprisingly doesn't smell like alcohol and immediately agree.

You both head towards the dance floor while some electronic pop hit busts through the speakers. You were a little anxious at first since you had seen the kind of dance machine Jimin was and you weren't all that confident in your skills. A couple of songs in though, you gained some confidence and got lost in your own little world that consisted of the pumping beat and Jimin. The crowded area made you two get closer and closer until you could hardly breathe. So, when the song ended, you headed out.

You felt dizzy. The smell of alcohol around all those sweaty bodies, the tight quarters, the thumping in your eardrums - it was all too much. It was fun at first, but your claustrophobia got the best of you. You rushed out and burst through exit, finally breathing in some fresh air.

You sat on the sidewalk trying to regain control of your heartbeat when you felt someone sit beside you.

"Hey, you alright Y/n?" Jimin had a worried look on his features as he took in your sweaty red face.

"Yeah, I'm fine, it's just... it came to a point where I couldn't breathe, I'm not used to this." You took in deep breaths and felt a soothing hand going up and down your back.

"Don't worry about, it was fun while it lasted though." He really did have a beautiful smile.

"I'm sorry if I ruined your night, but I don't know where you get that stamina from. You don't even look out of breath while I'm out here dying."  You felt your pulse regain a steady rhythm once more and calmed down a bit.

He chuckled. "I actually do this for a living Y/n, I usually go way harder than these little dances."

You stared at him in shock. "So you're a professional dancer?"

"Well, not exactly... I'm in this group and we have to constantly be up on stage and perform nonstop. We sing live while doing extreme choreography. What you saw in there was basically a warm up."

You could barely close your mouth as you wrapped your head around what he just said.

"What are you thinking about?" Jimin asked.

"How I'm extremely out of shape..." You answered truthfully and Jimin chuckled.

"Hey, back there - at the bar - you didn't smell like alcohol and you don't look buzzed, did you even drink?" You ask curiously.

"One of the downsides of being a performer is constantly keeping your body in check. Honestly, I have way too many responsibilities right now to go around acting stupid just for a little while."

You respected his mindset. "That's commitment right there," you agreed.

You both sat together enjoying a comforting silence when your eyes started to get droopy. It came to a point where you lost control of your head and almost knocked Jimin over.

"Hey, sleepy head, let's get you home. How'd you get here anyway?"

"I took a taxi," you murmured sleepily.

"I can drop you off if you want... or if you'd rather a taxi." He was really nice, you admired his morals.

"It's fine, I don't wanna impose. Plus, I can make my way back home."

"It's not a problem, it's after 2:00am and it's dangerous for such a pretty girl to be out alone." Such a gentleman.

"Don't worry about it, just please wait with me until a taxi comes."

He obliged and even opened the door for you when the taxi arrived.

"Thanks for such a nice time Jimin."

"Thank you too, I'm glad you came."

The car sped off and Jimin made sure you were safely on your way before disappearing from the sidewalk.

You made it home in one piece after a crazy night and blissfully went to sleep thinking about how one decision and just one day could make all the difference in the world.
