"I'm in love," I whispered lightly

"I'm in love," I whispered lightly. Her skin held a vibrancy I hadn't seen in almost two decades. With each brown beauty mark was glowing, caramel skin beneath it to give her features more emphasis than the next.

Gosh!

I wanted to cry.

Neglect.

That's what I did to her beautiful face for four months. I was so busy focused on her waking up that I didn't find time to study the muddy brown specks that's floated inside of green rings, I didn't find time to admire the blonde hairs that were sitting on her hairline.

"Nika," she blushed. Her cheekbones smiled at me, her lips rose, allowing her teeth to make themselves present for the first time in a week.

"I can't believe this is what I was missing," I whimpered. My feelings began to dampen, thoughts of my sight being snatched just as quick as it was given angered me.

I had no right to be angry, but this wasn't a privilege I wanted to give up anytime soon.
There was so much on this earth for me to scope, yet I only wanted to zoom in on my wife.

"Tell me you love me....look me in my eyes and tell me!" Again, I whimpered. We were so close to one another that I was more than sure she could hear the small, pitiful moan that rested underneath my words.

Her hands grabbed my face, her left thumb swiped leftward to erase a stray tear. "I love you, with everything in me, Onika Tanya Knowles."

I closed my eyes, my selfishness wanted to keep those orbs of hers in my memory forever. A small breath of air escaped my lips, I opened my eyes again and her stare was still there.

"Can you fuck me while saying that? While looking me in my eyes like you did just now?"

She groaned, I looked down into her lap and bit my lip at the print that was painted in gray.

"Here? Now?"

I looked around, finally taking in the clear skies that were free of white matter. The sun beamed, introducing us to the beginning of spring.

I shivered at the beauty of it all, a small flutter brought my eyes back to my wife who was releasing herself from her sweats while staring me down.

How did women not jump her bones with a face like that? Hunger was evident in her now low ridden eyes, I shivered and climbed into her lap fully.

"Right here, right now!"

"A boy, huh?" Matthew smiled at the new pictures I'd gifted him with. It was a hassle leaving my wife's side, but with a promise to keep this Smith and Wesson on my waist, I was able to leave the house quickly.

My body ached, but I was more focused on my father-in-law who looked more sad than ever.

"A boy," I confirmed, taking a small sip of the cold tea in front of me.
