Finding the source of the quill was tougher than it seemed.
Heading up to the owlery did nothing to confirm my suspicions about the quill's source. Instead, I was greeted by none other than a somewhat reclusive and grumpy Talbott Winger, who wanted the investigation to go quick so he could claim the owlery for himself again. I knew this was where he hid from the rest of the world whenever trouble ensued--which was pretty often, so to speak--so we made the scouring quick. Eventually he told me that he saw a white eagle owl flying over the Forbidden Forest a while back.
And I was close to grasping that when I saw Chiara and Liz cooing at it and feeding it from Liz's arm. As I approached, the owl got spooked very quickly and flew off, leaving me with yet again very little lead until Liz brought up that she saw owls typically hang around the Hogsmeade Train Station--a place with ample shade for owls to rest during the day.
