Emily Lin, nicknamed Em for this story, is the youngest child in the Lin family and the youngest sibling of the infamous Jacob Lin. Before this year, little word has been spread about her, and Clara preferred it that way--she'd rather her sister remain in the shadows than catapulted into the spotlight and becoming the ultimate target for R. Em's a hardworking student who's always looking to make amends with others who know so little about her. She's soft-spoken and gentle, and handles every situation with a level head--or at least she tries to given the circumstance. She really hopes that one day she'd see Jacob again and the three of them would be reunited.

Hillary Redstone is one of little Em's first friends at Hogwarts, and a member of Slytherin House. Hillary has a soft spot for most magical creatures, like Clara's friends Barnaby and Liz. She's especially passionate about dragons, like Charlie--though she doesn't openly boast about her liking for them all the time. She's a determined young soul who wouldn't stop at making sure she solidifies her reputation before any Centaur divines the future and tells her a horrible fortune--well, blame her cousin Travis for instilling that thought into her. Ever since that prank he played on her when they were young, she'd had nightmares about them.

Travis Poulter is Hillary's cousin and also a member of Slytherin House. A malicious and devious boy, he would stop at nothing to make sure everyone cowers in terror at the mention of his name--almost like the Dark Lord himself.

Dawn Everett is also a first-year Hufflepuff, and she and Emily share a dormitory together. A bit of a free spirit and a dreamer, she's very interested in natural beauty and hair styling, and she was one of the few sources of inspiration for Emily to start an arts and crafts club.
