The caller ID read "Jo." Kurt didn't want to impose, but it felt urgent and he didn't want Blaine to get in trouble for not answering.
So he picked up...
"Hello, I'm sorry. Blaine isn't here, I'm Kurt, a friend of his, our phones got switched up."
"Excuse me, fucker? You're Kurt?!"
"Y-yes, sir?" Kurt flinched at the drunken voice.
Now he knew where Blaine got it...
"Never speak to my son again. You made him gay. I do not tolerate that, you don't get to decide who is."
Kurt's fear turned into realization and anger.
"Well, you don't either! He does! There's no need to be rude!" Kurt yelled.
"Boy, you're going to regret your wor-"
Kurt hung up. He put one hand over his mouth and parked in the Dalton Dorm parking lot. He hesitantly knocked on Blaine and Nick's dorm room.
"Hey! Weren't you like just here? I mean, he's still kind of hungo-"
"I grabbed his phone by accident. Can I come in?" Kurt said shaking.
Blaine was found with his head in his arms. Kurt tapped his shoulder and slid his phone toward him.
"Oh... Thanks... Yours is on the dresser." Blaine said quietly.
He resumed his original state. Kurt went to grab his phone and leave, but was stopped by his emotions. He found himself drawn back to Blaine.
"Um... Are you okay?" Kurt asks.
"Yeah!" Blaine said sarcastically, sitting up. "Just been mourning over my idiotic father and sexuality, realizing I snitched on myself while I was drunk and have a damn hangover!"
Kurt gave a worried look which Blaine glanced at and put his head in his hands.
"I'm sorry. I guess I'm not doing well..."
Kurt pulled up a chair and sat next to him.
"Did you want to talk about it?" Kurt asked.
Blaine shook his head no. He bit his lip and sighed.
"You don't have to stay. I'm sure it's aggravating to deal with me."
"No, it's really not."
"Seriously, you don't have to lie. My dad tells me things straight forward so I know most of what others don't tell me. I don't want to piss you off."
"Blaine, your dad is a jackass. There is no other way to put it, I'm sorry... I feel like I should tell you something..."
"What is it?" Blaine groaned.
"Uh... So you know how I had your phone? Y-your dad called. He said I made you gay? He was being really mean. It stuck out t-to me because you said something to the same affect yesterday when you were drunk..."
Blaine's eyes widened.
"I'm so sorry..."
"Might want to take that back... I might've yelled at him..."
"Oh thank God, somebody put him in his place!"
Kurt looked down.
"He's going to kill me..." Blaine murmured.
"No, he won't. I won't let him!"
"Because you can control a 47 year old drunk man."
Blaine put his head back down.
"Hey come on. I promise you'll get through this."
Blaine wouldn't look up until Kurt put his hand in Blaine's shoulder. When he did, Kurt saw the tears forming and felt complete sympathy.
"Oh... Come here..."
He pulled Blaine into a hug while cried. Blaine didn't want Kurt to see him cry, but at this point it was inevitable.
"I'm gay, Kurt. I'm gay a-and I'm scared. My dad hates me and my mom won't even speak to me."
"Shh, Blaine. You're fine. It'll be okay."
Kurt realized he was assuring himself more than Blaine.
