Maggie was amazed at Nirvana's talent. She could feel her heart pounding wildly in her chest as vibrations from the loud music shook her to her core. A restless mass of bodies moved around her, sticky heat clinging to her.

Jenny and Cleo stood alongside her, equally as amazed. The dive bar was bustling with youthful attendees who craved loud fun. They didn't seem to know any of the songs, but became increasingly electrified as the night continued.

Krist played the bass, Chad was on drums, and Kurt played guitar and sang. His voice was destructive yet had an easy softness to it. Maggie found herself mesmerized. They were playing a song she didn't know, obviously, but it was catchy.

The show went on. Maggie and Kurts eyes would lock briefly every few minutes. The contact maybe lasted a split second but made her stomach turn upside down.

The performance ended about thirty minutes later. As Kurt left the stage, he softened from anger and passion to a look of shyness. A warm, tingly feeling infected Maggie's skin. It made her uncomfortable and weak.

"Drinks?" Cleo asked, bringing Maggie out of her trance and into reality. She nodded. The women squeezed through the crowd before the stage, and made their way to the bar.

Jenny ordered three beers. They sat on barstools, Jenny and Cleo talking and laughing loudly. Maggie was in a daze. The performance had fed her yet left her feeling starved of something. She wasn't sure what. The deprivation of this unknown element was torturous but made her feel alive.

She hadn't felt alive in a very long time.

Her beer being slid in front of her shook her awake. She turned to Cleo and Jenny. "You're being weird..." Jenny commented. Maggie blushed a soft pink color that made her feel like a bubblegum loving, soft, innocent teenage girl. These strange feelings felt so vile.

"What? I'm fine... just tired.." she muttered, taking a long sip of her drink. Cleo quirked an eyebrow. "What is it? Oh, I bet you like that boy that sang," she suggested, elbowing Maggie in the side. She scoffed, elbowing Cleo back.

"Liar.." she grumbled as Jenny and Cleo continued to laugh.

She felt a hand on her shoulder. She promptly spun around, clutching her beer tight. Her wild hazel eyes met calm blue ones. The fist around her beer unclenched slowly. Krist and Chad stood beside Kurt, shimmering with sweat.

"Hey, we're glad you showed up!" Krist exclaimed, hooking an arm around Maggie. His voice boomed loudly against her ear. She grinned happily. "Yeah. You guys were really great.." she said, locking eyes with Kurt once again, who seemed timid and shy.

"You especially, Kurt. You're amazing." She muttered, leaning in closer towards him. A rosy tint painted his cheeks. "Thanks Maggie. I'm glad you liked it." He said, his voice so velvety and raspy. A shiver ran down Maggie's spine.

The three men sat beside the three women, ordering drinks for themselves. Kurt perched himself on a stool alongside Maggie. She was delighted to be in his company yet terrified of looking foolish. She took a long swig of beer to drown out her inner voice.

"Do you guys have any plans for an album?" She asked suddenly. Kurts lips quirked into a faint smirk as he nodded. "We're in the process of recording one right now, actually." He said, his eyes lit with a flame of passion. His demeanor was so prideful when he talked about music, in contrast to his shyness at all other times. Maggie found it quite adorable.

"Well, I better be the first one to know when it comes out." She said, making Kurt laugh quietly. He nodded. "Don't worry, you will." He assured, offering her a wink. Her insides turned to soft mush, and butterflies filled the cavity of her stomach. God, she felt like such a dork as her grin grew so big it hurt like the painful stabs of a thousand knives. Her skin could be sliced open and sizzling with pain, but that big, toothy smile wouldn't go away.

Not with Kurt around.

"I still feel bad for crying on you back in January." He stated, making Maggie bust out into genuine laughter. She hadn't laughed like that in a painfully long time. "Seriously?" She asked, struggling to make words through her incessant giggling. Kurt nodded, Maggie's laughter causing him to giggle.

"That was just.. awful. I was such a shithead that night and I'm sorry." He rambled shamefully, bowing his head. Maggie shook her curly head. "Seriously, Kurt. I get it. It's no big deal," she said, hesitantly placing a hand on his shoulder. She could feel him warmth radiating through the thick sweater he wore. Her fingers stopped shaking upon contact with his thin frame. Kurts face turned bright red.

The air felt thick and hot. Her fingers lingered against her shoulder for what felt like an eternity, before she pulled away. He was left feeling a bit saddened at the loss of contact.

Maggie drained the last few sips of her beer, and sloppily wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. She then turned back to Kurt.

"Do you want to get out of here?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.

Kurt eagerly nodded.
