The worries
I starred at the floor. I didn't what to say. Sydney was crying. She accidentally knocked over a shelf and it landed on Kitty. People were filing through the door and looking around. We all walked towards the elevator quiet as mice and went down in silence. When we stood in a circle nobody talked. Sydney was looking at her shoes.
-Why are we even down here!?- Red yelled angered.
-It wasn't even her fault!- Storm yelled too.
-It wasn't even attempted!- I yelled with the others. Soon voices rose and angry people yelling.
-Enough! Time to vote.- The bear sat in his evil throne and my mind raced. This isn't fair! It was an accident. I lifted up my pad and voted. Not for Sydney though. I tapped on my own face. Let's see what happens. I saw Gena next to me vote for Jude. She saw me looking and shrugged.
-You all are correct!- The bear bashed the button and Sydney's face appeared in three slots. She sobbed into her hoodie. I looked around. VC looked guilty and didn't meet eye contact. Snow looked away from the rest. I sighed. We all trudged down the hall way and I didn't watch as Sydney was dragged down a corridor.
We all seated ourselves around the cage and painfully watched as Sydney stood on a plate in the middle of it. She wiped a tear away and put on a game face. The walls lit up and the plat form she stood on rose upwards. She stood her stance and I saw scientific looking wires start to form on the walls.
A holographic sci-fi styled words appeared in front of her. START. IT read. Little robots started to come out of the walls and started to advance towards her. They looked harmless enough. Sydney stood still looking unsure what to do. The first robot reached her. As I looked closer I saw a needle attached to it. Before Sydney could react the needle plunged into her calf. She screamed and started to run. A obstacle course popped up in front of her.
She sprinted and started to climb a rope made if wire. She had some difficulty and some more robots were attacking her legs. She screamed and made it to the top and started to run on a little platform. She monkey barred across a gap and started to climb a rock wall. Halfway up she slipped and fell. I shut my eyes and heard her scream. I opened them and she was on the ground surrounded by miny robots with pink specks all over her body. She screamed once more and that was it.
