HUNTER

As soon as I hear the faint music in the background, I already know where they are. Thankfully my sister took her somewhere private where no unnecessary attention would come her way. I grabbed my keys from the nightstand and decided on a plain white shirt and black sweatpants. I also grabbed my red winter coat since the weather today is pretty cold. The only outfit I wear when I'm back home or out with friends. My phone buzzed in my hand and it's an email from Amy, schedule for the promo tour and other stuff we need to attend. I mentally take note to reply to her but in the meantime, I'm starving.

"Where are you going?" my Mom asked once she saw me on the foot of the stairs. She is standing next to the old statue she got from Prague, it's of Adam, naked with a leaf covering his cock. Classy.

"Ma..." I walked to her and kissed her on the cheek, giving her a slight hug. I've always been close to my Mom, she saw me struggle, she saw me fail yet I always feel enough when I'm with her.

"You've been sleeping all day and now you're out again?" I hear the concern in her voice. I know it must be hard for her with all her working children away from home all the time.

"Just going to grab dinner with Evee and Eliza. I can get you your favorite pudding. They're at Santi's." I smiled at her, coaxing a reaction.

She reached for my face and a small smile appeared on her lips.

"This girl, Eliza, I see something in her son. She actually talked to me about paintings, books, wine, about how she got into acting. I like her."

I smiled at the thought of my girlfriend. I still can't believe she's my girlfriend. And it's really nice to hear that Mom is liking her. I have been with girls who I didn't actually see as I am in a relationship with them. I feel like commitment was a huge deal for me back then but with her, it just happened naturally.

"I know, Ma. I've never met anyone like her..."

My Mom nods at me and I feel my heart race, I want to talk to her about Eliza and I haven't talked to my mother about someone special, not ever since Amelia.

"She wanted us to keep it private, Ma." Her eyes light up with interest, I don't know if it's because I opened up to her again, or she's completely invested in this.

"Son, if she wants to keep it between the two of you, then I see no harm."

"But I want everyone to know..." the selfish part of me is making me say this.

"She seems to be a very private person who doesn't need everyone's approval, so I see why she would keep everything between you a secret. She's not after something that can only benefit her, she's doing this for you, too."

Then like a slap on my face, I realized, deep down in my heart, I'm head over heels over this girl.

I parked behind Evee's pink Evoque Land Rover, it's hideous, I inwardly cringed. Anyone can actually spot this hideous car from a mile away and I hope they don't get in an accident. I looked through the large window under the large handwritten sign Santi's that lights up at night with golden, yellow neon.

Someone opened the door for me and I smiled politely. I reached the reception and was welcomed by a familiar face.

The smile didn't reach my ear. It's Sophia, one of my regrettable human encounters.

"Wow, two Thompsons in a day. Seems to be my unlucky day." She rolled her eyes and if I'm here to cause a scene, I should call the manager but I'm here for food and for my girlfriend.
