"I don't like reality.

Its bland, blunt and lacks creativity.

But I find a haven, a retreat, a special place to call my own by hiding in my dreams and within the pages of a novel.

The ability to escape into another's world and life, all while immersed in the comfort of a plush couch, or in front of a crackling roaring fire. You can watch the warm light of a fire illuminate the room, it creates a glow, almost a silhouette, as light kisses the edges of the soft white pages.

That's my happy place.

But as you turn the last page or wake up from a deep slumber. Your left with the teasing memory of a life you've wished you lived, or just the longing for the story to be about you.

But there is such a thing called reality. And sometimes you must come down to it, as much as it pains you to do so.

Because the reality is...

It's not your story."
