Star Wars the Clone Wars: Family Ties

Chapter 8

Outside in space, General Grievous's ship soon blasts out of hyper space and in front of the ship that Braxton and Cloe are on.

"Sir," the battle droid said, "The tracker has been disabled but our scanners last indicated that the target was on that ship."

"Prepare to board," Grievous said.

Soon, Grievous's ship is fires upon the Star Destroyer and then are exchanged back and forth.

"Fire off the boarding ships," Grievous demands.

With a press of a button, four large looking drills deploy from Grievous's ship and impact into the Star Destroyer.

Anakin, Captain Rex, Commander Cody and Braxton run down a long hallway before getting jostled by the impact of the droid boarding ships.

"Admiral, status," Anakin said into his comm link.

"It's General Grievous," Admiral Yularen said, "He has deployed droid boarding ships and is continuing with heavy fire. We can hold them off, but we need to get the droids off of this ship."

"Don't worry," Anakin responded, "Obi-Wan, the clones and I will deal with the droids, just keep Grievous occupied."

Obi-Wan and Cloe soon run toward the group.

"Cloe," Braxton said running into her arms.

"It's Grievous, master," Anakin said, "The Admiral said he can hold off his ship, but we have to destroy all the droids that have already come inside."

"The most important thing is to ensure that Grievous doesn't get to Braxton," Obi-Wan said, "Anakin, you and your squadron take Braxton and Cloe to the back part of the ship and hide."

"And what are you going to do," Anakin said.

"Me," Obi-Wan said walking away with Commander Cody, "Well, I am going to go greet our guests."

With Obi-Wan running down one direction of the hallway, Anakin and the rest run down the opposite direction.

Grievous jumps into a boarding ships and fires off into space. On his way to the Star Destroyer, Grievous weaves his way through the gun fire until his ship makes impact. Grabbing one of his lightsaber he slices the door open and upon exiting is greeted by gunfire from the clones, which he very easily destroys. Looking in both directions, he turns and walks in the direction that Anakin went with Braxton and Cloe.

At the back of the ship, Anakin and the group arrive at the end of the long hallway. Stepping over a small lip in the ground, they enter a large open room with boxes. Anakin presses a button on the wall which opens up to a small bedroom.

"Get in," Anakin said.

Cloe allowed for Braxton to enter first and then she followed behind him.

"Are we safe in here," Braxton asked Cloe.

Cloe looks over to Anakin who is busy conversing with the clones.

"I am not going to let anything happen to us," Cloe said, "And they aren't either."

"Promise and beyond," he said holding up his thumb.
