"... The winner of each Duel will get their opponent's Puzzle Cards. Only those who collect six puzzle cards can reach the unknown location of the Finals! Now, let the Battle City begin! Duelists! Scatter across this city and locate your enemies!"
...
The Battle City tournament had begun. Duelists across the city scattered, looking for their opponents in an attempt to obtain six Puzzle Cards so that they could earn a place in the final eight of Kaiba's tournament. One of these duelists was Lucas's young, flirtatious friend, Jacob.
Jacob was walking down the street, heading towards a fancy cafe. He figured since the cafe was relatively close, Jacob could begin his search there, hoping he could find some attractive duelist from which he can win both a Puzzle Card, and if possible, a phone number. Jacob could not contain his excitement.
"Oh man!" exclaimed Jacob. "I can't wait to get my duels started! I wonder what kind of duelists we're gonna meet in Battle City. Maybe I can find a really cute date during this thing." Jacob placed his hands behind his head as he continued walking. Jacob looked up to the sky and muttered to himself: "I wonder where Lucas is going to be. It would have been great if we tried challenging people together. We'd make it to the Final Eight in no time."
As Jacob got closer to the Cafe, he noticed a young man with blond, bushy hair, blue jeans, and a blue and white shirt yelling at a much older man, who was taking a sip of his tea with his laptop open.
"Hmm? I wonder what the commotion is all about?" said Jacob. He continued his walk towards the cafe. As he got closer to the angry boy, Jacob noticed that the two individuals were wearing a Duel Disk. The guy sitting at the cafe was wearing similar clothing to that of the Rare Hunters him and Lucas had met a few days prior. Jacob's expression changed. He placed his arms down to his side and started walking faster towards the big crowd being formed by this angry blondie, determined to challenge the Rare Hunter. As Jacob walked past an alleyway, a deep, scratchy voice called out to him.
"Jacob Den."
Jacob turned to see a second Rare Hunter hiding in the shadows of the alleway. The cloaked figure signaled Jacob to follow him into the alley, away from the large crowd. Jacob followed the Rare Hunter, not noticing another boy with large, spiky hair stepping up to the Rare Hunter challenging him to a duel instead of his blond friend.
Jacob followed the Rare Hunter to an open area. This area was surprisingly big; there were high buildings surrounding this area; small little trees were located at each corner, as if they were just recently planted there; there were stairs leading to a lower level of the concrete platform. The lower platform was incredibly wide. If you wanted to, you could have held a tag team duel here.
"Jacob Den," said the Rare Hunter in his scratchy voice. "The owner of Exodia, The Forbidden One". Two more Hunters came out from behind separate trees and headed towards the entrance, blocking the way out of this isolated area..
"My reputation precedes me," responded Jacob, noticing the blocked entrance. "Although, I wished I would have attracted prettier duelists. What do you creeps want?"
"You see," said the leading Hunter. "Our organization specializes in collecting rare cards for our charitable clients. And someone just placed an order for YOUR set of Exodia."
"Oh?" Jacob gave the hunters a little smirk and responded with, "Is she cute?"
The hunters all gawked in confusion. "Excuse me?"
