Pilos - May 413 BC

Calm. The atmosphere in the clearing was calm and comforting. Lightning Ariti loved just sitting there and enjoying nature. She had already done the sacrifice for the day, this time to the goddess of the home, Hestia. Animals were living their lives, unknowing of the horrifying event bound to happen. Lightning was a clever girl. Rarely impulsive and rash, always thinking through her actions and words. For this, she ended up as a loved girl. She was gorgeous and had a perfect personality.

Even the goddesses envied her. They did not want any harm done to her. However, that was impossible to avoid thanks to the curse placed on her. She was only an infant when Hera found out about her. A curse was placed upon her that would bring a happy life to a tragic end.

She had returned home to the palace. She was daughter of King Adonis and Queen Pheme, but both her and her mother knew who her father truly was. Zeus, King of the Sky. Her hair was golden as the liquid running through her father's vein and she was named after his strongest weapon. In the palace, she was met with another queue of suitors who fought for her hand in marriage. At the age of 17, she was perfectly suited for marriage, yet she refused every man who approached her.

King Adonis, getting fed up with this, arranged a competition for his daughter's hand without her permission. The minute she stepped into the courtyard, she was informed of this. She was furious and for once, did not think through her actions. She stormed to her father's office, demanding him to cancel the competition. He stood up and stormed towards her, pushing her into the wall. Before she could utter anything, a dagger was firmly pressed at her throat.

Seconds before her throat was slit, she uttered her last words as a mortal.

"You are not my father, therefore this decision is not yours."
