4 Months Later

I woke up and Kendall had taken Pablo out of his pen and probably downstairs with her. I went to find her in the kitchen and she smiled at me proudly when she saw me.

"Morning" she said and we kissed a few times before she passed me a smoothie bowl she'd made for me

"Thanks baby" I said

"You're cute when you call me baby" she said and watched me eating at the breakfast table "you're just cute in general"

"You're cute too"

"I just feel bad because I don't usually do nice little things for you so I thought I'd do something nice for once"

"It's fine, you do a lot for me" I said

"But I wanted to make you breakfast"

"And I'm very grateful" I smiled and Pablo came to say hello to me then took himself back to his bed in the living room "he's so cute, I love him"

"He's the only boy I'll ever love" she said

"Me too" I laughed and she put her arm around me while I ate the breakfast she'd made for me.

Later that day we were watching a movie in the living room and we'd had a few drinks so we were much more cuddly and soppy than usual.

"Good. While you were sleeping last night I decided I wanted to tell you something" she said

"Good or bad?"

"Bad" She said

"Go on"

"You said a while ago that I should be all about honesty, so this is just me being honest" she said

"Did you do something?"

"I did something, yes" she murmured and held my hand

"You can tell me, I won't hate you as long as you're honest"

"Okay, here goes. Remember how we sort of started things off and then I got mad at you for something that turned out not to be true, like a total asshole?"

"Yeah" I laughed

"Well, you know as soon as me and my wife separated, I liked to have a lot of uh... female company and I didn't stop having other company from other people until we started doing it often and started being exclusive"

"Oh" I said "I thought you were kinda passionate about loyalty after what happened to you"

"I am now we're together, but I don't see what's wrong with giving other people a test drive before you commit to someone else and really know what you want" she said and I just sat there and looked at her, completely dumbfounded at what she was saying

"So was I your favourite in bed and you decided to keep me?" I frowned

"Yeah, but not only because of that" she said "don't look at me like that, you're reading too much into this"

"I don't think I am. You could've given me a disease, Kendall" I said

"I'm clean, they were clean" she reassured me and took my hand but I didn't hold her hand back so she let go

"How many were there?"

"I don't know, maybe-"

"You said you were being honest, how many were there?" I asked

"Princess, I don't know, five or six"

"Was that your little shortlist, then?"

"No, I don't know what's wrong with me. I just liked the freedom of sleeping with who I wanted to after all that time being in an unhappy, basically sexless marriage. I promise you that you were always my first choice"
