Grover on the hilltop: the Song

A/N: This is a parody of 'Michael in the bathroom'! Who gets the reference? Sort-of inspired by a Youtube comment on 'The tree on the Hill' video (please send me a link of a good slime tutorial for the TLT musical- if you have/know one- 'cause I really want to watch it).

Edit- Please forgive me for shoving my old obsession down your throats with this post, just skip it if you aren't intrigued whatsoever (although I would still like that slime tutorial).

I am pondering my story, on a hill thinking of Thalia's fall;

Percy doesn't judge me now, but I can vow,  he will when he learns of it all.

I'm a satyr, protector, who should've saved their skins before my own;

But I can't do some good, as I totally should, so I'm here at Half-Blood hill alone.

Everything went wrong...it was just so unfair;

 And now I sing this song, since I should have been there...

Repenting on my sin, I'm just-

Of who I should've been.

I'd understand if he'd want me to leave, if

He'll think that I should do something but grieve;

Can't move on 'cause I'm still haunted, tormented by all my history;

Friendships get erased, and I'll be replaced, with a newer, braver version of me.

And I see Annabeth, call Percy an utter Seaweed Brain;

Gods, they are real cute together! (in tune of 'i wanna dance with somebody')

And then my feelings sink, 'cause it makes me think,

They're future is without me, I won't watch them train. (remember satyrs mature at half the rate of a demigod/human, he's saying if he stays with them for too long eventually they'll die and leave him behind- so it's probably best to not get too close to them to have his heart broken in the end...it's just a theory, go with it)

I'll still be- Grover on a hilltop,

Grover on the hilltop at Camp Half-Blood...

Who'll outlive half his peers, I'm just-

Holding back all my tears.

And all I can do now is take the blame,

That felt awesome, I'm so glad I came.

Edit: Okay, I wrote this song back when I was hardcore obsessed (not an exaggeration, believe me) with Be More Chill (the musical), so this post will not be appreciated by most people. *shrugs* Sorry.
