"Iris, Iris." I wake up to see a strange capitol man with about ten others next to him; they're all weaaring long white jackets. I try to get up but my hands are hand-chuffed to the bed I'm in.
"No, don't get up yet Iris. You went through a lot of surgery in the past two days. Just try to rest for now." A woman with light pink hair brushed back in a ponytail makes her way through the white jacket people.
"Hello Iris, my name is Dr. Solorio, and I'm going to talk to you about some very important things." She says in her Capitol accent.
"My scars..." I say, "Did you get rid of them?"
"No. They're still there as you requested." Dr. Soloria smiles.
"Okay." I state. At that point, everyone in the room leaves besies Dr. Solorio and I.
"Iris, while the doctors were examining you.. we...we found a six-week-old fetus."
"Okay." I say
"No, you don;t understand. Iris, you're six weeks pregnant."
My heart stops, there's no way. I can't be a mother, it's impossible. "What?"
"A woman conceives a child after sexual intercourse. Where you sexually active in the last six weeks."
I nod, trying to hold back tears. "Kaden." I answer.
"Well, you're having Kaden's child. Congratulations." Di. Solorio goes over the dos and don'ts of pregnancy, but I don't listen. I'm carrying a piece of Kaden with me; he lives in me, I will protect this child because if we hadn't been in the games, we would of gotten married and had children.
After two days, I'm ready to leave the Hospital Canter. Chaff comes up to me and gives me a hug. "I knew you could do it! I knew it! You're alive!" Chaff screams.
"I know." I state.
"You're the youngest victor in the world!" He screams again.
"I know." I reply with a blank expression.
We take the elevator up to the eleventh floor and I find everyone congratulating me. Leif, my prep team and Betty are all hugging me and screaming things at me.
"I always knew you were hiding something!" "I almost screamed when you killed that boy in the tree!" "I can't believe you won!" "I was in the middle of lunch duringhte first tidal wave!"
"Okay, okay settle down!" Chaff screams. "Let's remember, Iris is pregnant so, lets not stree her out." Chaff points to Leif and his team, "Go get her ready, she has the Victor Interview tonight."
I follow Leif into the Distrit 11 Female room, as his team make me look beautiful again I notice how quite it is. Last time I was here, there were 24 living children talking and loving life. Now, it's just me.
"I gota throw up." I say. Layce, Kaden's stylist hands me a bucket and I throw up foe about five minutes.
"Buy the time your in your second trimester, the morning sickness will be gone." Leif says.
I look at him, "This is because I'm pregnant?" Leif nods and gives me something to chew on that tastes like mint leaves.
"Okay, close your eyes." Leif commands. I obey and feel a light material come over my body. "Opan." Leif whispers. I get chills when I see my dress for the interview, its black leather with red pieces of fabric sliced in it. I look dangerous. I don't recongize the person I see in front of me.
"I'm no longer innocent." I say.
"Absolutely not." Leif smiles.
This was true; I'm no longer the cute, little, sweet, innocent Iris. I'm the dangerous killer, the Victor of the 72nd Annual Hunger Games.
