Miko enjoyed the warmth. The blankets that she assumed Aizawa placed atop her cocooned her more than she already was. But she felt...uncertain. What if he had left? Was she alone? Her head poked out from beneath the covers. The room was dark, the lights having been flicked off for hours. A small whimper escaped her throat as she quickly burrowed back into the blankets. Mustering up her courage, she slipped the blanket over her head like a cloak and raced down the hall. She paused outside of Aizawa's slightly opened door. She stalled uncertainly before pushing open the door. She froze at the sight of Aizawa's sleeping form, his face squashed against the pillow he was laying on, his arms squashed beneath the pillow, mouth hanging open. Miko tentatively took a step back into the hall. The edge of the blanket was underneath her foot, and before she knew it, she felt herself falling backward. With a dull THUD, she landed on her back. From her view on the floor, she saw Aizawa's eyes snap open, his gaze zeroing in on her through the cracked open door. He blinked a few times before sliding his legs around, sitting up on the edge of the bed.
"Miko, what are you doing at...", he looked at the alarm clock on his table. "Three A.M.?" Miko shrugged sheepishly. Aizawa sighed, grabbing a small vial of eyedrops and dripping a small amount into both eyes.
"I, uh... was just making sure I wasn't alone.", Miko muttered as Aizawa lumbered off the bed, stopping in front of her. He bent down to her level, an eyebrow arched, before sighing once more.
"How about this. You go back to the living room, and I'll come in there in a second. Alright?" Miko nodded slowly, taking the blanket and rewrapping it around her. She ran back into the living room, leaping onto the couch and snuggling under the blanket. A moment later, Aizawa lumbered in, a yellow sleeping bag in his hand. He laid on the ground next to the couch, sliding into his sleeping bag. Miko peered down at him.
"Are you going to sleep down there?", she asked. Aizawa arched an eyebrow.
"Isn't that a little obvious?"
Miko paused. "Isn't that a little uncomfortable?"
Aizawa rolled his eyes, a slight smirk on his face. "I use this thing all the time, it's not uncomfortable." When he saw her uncertain expression, he smiled and reached up, ruffling her hair. "It's fine."
Miko allowed a sheepish smile to appear on her face as she wallowed back into her blanket, finding sleep much easier than before.
