After Lunch Rush fed Miko some of his special, homestyle-ramen, Aizawa almost felt jealous of the the compliments he was receiving. He swallowed his pride, though, and brought Miko along with him for the rest of the day. But when it was time to go home, they were interrupted by a familiar blonde man with flaming orange glasses.
Aizawa was packing his papers away when Hizashi barged in loudly. "Yo, Shota! How 'bout we hang at your place for a while?", he declared, leaving practically no room for argument. Aizawa, the bags under his eyes seemingly darker than ever, sighed.
"And if I say no?"
Miko, who had been standing behind Aizawa and messing around with a random pencil she'd found, quickly looked up with wide eyes. She loosely gripped his pant leg as a silent and polite way of asking for his attention. Aizawa made the mistake of glancing down.
Her red eyes bore into his black ones, seemingly sharing a silent conversation, and Aizawa sighed. "Fine." Hizashi almost screeched with delight, but with a withering glare from Aizawa, he quickly silenced himself.
Miko snatched the orange glasses from Aizawa's pocket and put them on her face with a wide grin, following the adults as they left the classroom. She skipped merrily alongside them, her grin settling down to a soft smile as her ears picked up Hizashi's incessant chattering. Within a few minutes, they arrived at Aizawa's apartment.
Miko immediately launched herself onto the couch, the sunglasses almost falling helplessly off of her face with the speed. Hizashi followed closely, mock-sprinting and plopping onto the couch next to her childishly. They shared a look and giggled quietly.
Aizawa, feeling left out, grumbled under his breath about Hizashi breaking his couch by jumping on it, but he just walked into the kitchen to get Miko a snack. Miko's eyes followed him, curiosity flooding her small, nine-year old brain.
She tilted her head, and Hizashi, who was scrolling through his phone to try and find her a game to play, glanced at her. His eyes widened with fear as Miko's very being began to fade, her skin wavering as if she were dipped beneath water, and then, with a soft pop!, she was gone.
Aizawa jumped slightly when he saw Miko appear beside him, her legs swinging from the counter she had suddenly appeared on. A wide grin was on her face, and Aizawa let out a puff of breath. He could already tell that her randomly teleporting would start to get on his nerves.
The next thing that got on his nerves was the unholy screech of Satan himself that Hizashi launched from his throat as he scrambled off of the couch. "Shota! Miko's gone! I didn't even-"
With a laser-red glare from Aizawa, Hizashi's deafening scream was silenced to a screechy whisper. "Shut the hell up, Hizashi. She's over here, you dumbass.", he said angrily, his hands quickly reaching over and cupping over Miko's ears as he spoke.
Hizashi glared at him from his position on the floor, his hand holding his upper body off of the floor as his legs kept him half-propped up on the side of the couch. The glasses that were usually perched perfectly on his nose were crooked, and nervous sweat on his face. "How was I supposed to know that?", he yelped defensively, gesturing wildly with his hand. The sudden movement caused him to lose balance, and the rest of his upper body fell to the floor, his face slamming into the ground.
Aizawa smirked at his pain, removing his hands from Miko's ears, who tilted her head at him confusedly. He shook his head, signaling that it wasn't important, and then handed her a squeezable pack of apple sauce. She took it with a grin, and then suddenly disappeared, reappearing on the couch.
Miko glanced over the couch's arm, staring at Hizashi. "Are you okay?", she asked, offering a hand. Hizashi took it with a silly grin, mostly pushing himself up as he stood back up.
"Of course! You just took me by surprise, little listener."
Miko laughed before quickly sucking on the apple sauce packet. Hizashi, now curious, stood up and walked into the kitchen, leaning against the counter next to Aizawa as he washed some dishes. "So...", he began, eyes staring around the room until they met Aizawa's. Hizashi asked, "What is her Quirk?"
Aizawa rolled his eyes. "Half Demon Half Angel." He finished the plate he had been washing and grabbed a dry rag, scrubbing his hands half-heartedly. "Teleportation, element manipulation, shadow manipulation, healing, and obviously flight." He leaned against the counter next to Hizashi. "She says there's something... missing." Glancing at Miko as she squeezed the life out of the poor apple sauce container, he continued. "It'll take some tinkering for her to figure it out, I'm sure." With that, he stood up and walked back to the living room and sat next to Miko, an idea popping into his head. "Oi. Kid." Miko looked at him expectantly, the pouch hanging from her mouth. Aizawa smirked softly before asking, "Do you like board games?"
And just like that, a switch had been flipped. Within five minutes, Hizashi had set up the game of Monopoly. At first, he'd worried it'd be too advanced, but Miko said stubbornly, "I'm nine, Mr. Mic, not seven."
Hizashi had laughed at that and continued setting up the board.
Within fifteen minutes, Miko had half of the bank's money in her possession, and three fourths of the property owned. Against his better judgement, Hizashi was getting peeved. His teeth were grit as he rolled the dice, dread falling over his face like a blanket when he rolled a seven, right onto one of Miko's hotels. She grinned sweetly, holding her hand out for his money.
When she received it, she tilted her head. "Mr. Mic, is this game too advanced for you?"
Hizashi glared at her half-heartedly as he narrowed his eyes, his lips in a tight line. "This is revenge for that comment, isn't it?"
Miko laughed, her tail reaching around and taking the money that he had held out on her. "Yeah, it is."
The game was over quickly after that.
Then, Aizawa whipped up a quick dinner (mostly noodles and whatever toppings and broth he could find. Miko was happy with anything related to ramen), and Hizashi bid adieu, giving his little listener a hug and a wave to Aizawa. As soon as he left, Aizawa grinned down at Miko. "Nice playing."
She shrugged, as if she had no idea what he was talking about. Aizawa ruffled her hair.
"It's just day two and you're already learning how to work your Quirk." Again, she acted innocent, acting totally oblivious to the fact that the dice's shadows somehow knocked itself onto Hizashi's unluckiest numbers.
