Over the next few days I studied the guards that came into the room and I found that there was a pattern. I discussed this with Flue when I could and we came up with a plan.

******

The man put up with his job, not because he liked it, but because he had to.

He entered the room and checked the dome. It was still secure. "Okay you know the drill, one of you has to be the one," he said.

One of the creatures stepped forward into the light. It was a little green lion cub that had leaves growing on its back. "Okay, get in the dome."

The cub didn't. Suddenly, he felt a pull on his leg. He looked down, a vine was pulling at his leg. He tried to pull it off, but more grabbed his hands and pulled him to the floor. The cub looked pleased of itself.

"Good work Cubsprout, now pass me the keys," I said.

The cub padded over to the man on the floor and picked out his keys, then passed them through the bars of my cage.

I unlocked my cage and hopped out. It felt good to stretch.

'Oy, Hurry up and unlock our cages!' Flue yelled out.

I rolled my eyes and went around unlocking the cages, leaving Flue's for last to show my annoyance. Flue glared at me the whole time until he was finally let out.

'Okay lets go!" Flue said.

I grabbed a map and the mans radio and looked out the door. The coast was clear. I led the way through the corridoors. we didn't pass anyone for a while, until the radio started crackling.

'All troops please report to room 36, the prisoners have escaped.'

The creatures all started whispering to each other, but Flue silenced them. 'Come on, we have to keep moving!'

But coming from the end of the corridoor were the thumping of at least twenty pairs of boots on the concrete floor.

'Quick, someone find a place to hide!' I looked around, but I couldn't see anything.

'Hey everyone, look here!' Flu called out. He had found a metal grate that fell into darkness.

'It'll have to do,' said . With Flue's help, we managed to lift the heavy grate and the first of the creatures jumped down.

One by one they disappeared down the hole until it was just me and Flue left.

'See ya' at the bottom,' said Flue and with a wink he was gone.

I looked around makng sure that everyone had gone. I was about to jump down the hole myself, when I saw a flash of green. Huddling in the corner was a little green dragon I tried to called it over, 'he, come on we need to get out of here!'

After a little hesitation the dragon finally decided to come closer. But instead of going down the hole, the dragon jmped into my arms. I had to admit it was pretty cute,so I through it down the hole.

The footsteps were almost here so I picked up the grate and pulled it closed as I fell down...

And down...

And down...
