"Annabeth where are you right now?"
"We are still at the Camp, I got Percy to buy the pregnancy test just a few miles outside the camp barrier at the local store."
"Okay good." I breathed through by nose and rubbed my eyes with my other hand. This was significant news, without a doubt something to bring joy after the past events but there was still a lot to consider.
"Who else knows as of right now?"
"Only Percy."
"Okay. Get checked as soon as possible to make sure that everything's good with you and the baby before you do anything else, I'm assuming that based on the timeline that you were down in Tartarus while pregnant and that could have had significant impacts on their health."
"Okay, definitely, Thank you so much for being understanding."
"No problem, is Percy near you?" I hoped that my calm voice masked the fear for the unknown right now.
There was a rustle of movement before Annabeth's' soft voice was replaced by Percy's deep tone, "Leilah?"
"You absolute moron," Stressing the words for emphasis, "You two slept together while we were trying not to die, really? And now look at what's happened!"
"What on Earth do you expect? Two horny teenagers stuck on a fuckin ship sailing to another continent for days on end not knowing if each day was the last?!" His voice was pinched, "She is the only one for me Leilah! of course I love her and this baby. I know its a bit early for the both of us but we are ready."
"One would think that you would at least wrap before you tap you Guppy," I took a deep breath, trying to think with the racing thoughts.
"But what's done is done. You better protect her and that child to the best of your ability I swear to Hades." My voice promised of pain if he would screw anything up. Even though Percy was my half-brother, I was at camp with Annabeth long before he came along.
"If anything happens to her or this child I'd throw myself back into Tartarus, that I promise." he swore, concern and dedication lacing through his voice.
"Do I need to come back to New York?" I was ready to leave at a moments notice to assist in the caring and delivery of my nephew or niece for the upcoming months.
"No. We are okay. Please, enjoy your freedom. Hades knows that you need it since you have been without it for the last decade."
A rustle from the bush broke my attention from the phone. A low growl echoing through the wild soon followed with red eyes peering through the leaves in hunger.
"Shit, it seems that I have finally attracted company. I'll call you later. I love you guys." I quickly ended the call without hearing the response to get rid of the monster.
I stood close to the trees on the edge of the clearing and drew the pen from my back pocket. Twirling it three times before it transformed into a short Celestial Bronze sword, similar to Percy's but had its own advantages, fitted to my body. It felt like an extension of my own arm. But I needed my bow and arrow for a clear and easier shot. I tossed the sword into the air and watched as it glowed and transformed into a bow.
The eyes still blared a haunting red from the darkness of the bush, waiting for me to have the first strike.
Sorry buddy, can't have you hanging around, I spoke in Ancient Greek to the creature within the bush. A dark furred paw left the shroud of shadow before an arrow was knocked, its claws glistening black and aching for the chance to kill. The monster didn't manage leave the shadow before it was vaporized by my arrow, disappearing in a burst of gold dust and returning to Tartarus.
The bow transformed back to a pen, which I skewered through my ponytail for safekeeping. I stepped closer to where the monster was and crouched down to observe the yellow powder that it left behind, there was a smear of the golden blood of monsters left behind in the grass. It shined as the sun shone through the trees above.
"Leilah? Where are you?" Elena's soft voice grew strong as she reached the back porch and opened the door. I had only been gone for a few minutes but this revelation and the encounter made this moment feel eternal.
"Over here." I called, "Just observing the nice view." I smiled and softly rubbed the ferns and flowers that had been crushed in the monsters path, softly pushing my healing powers into the plants and watching them come back to life. Luckily I was in the way of Elena's view so she didn't see this happen, there would have been too much to explain.
I turned around and smiled at her, leaving behind nothing but healthy foliage as we both went back inside the house.
"Who was that one the phone?" She asked, I could tell that she was burning with curiosity, all that time that we were apart of course gaining different people in our lives.
"My half-brother and his girlfriend, they were just asking how the travel was." I replied nonchalantly, forgetting that I had not mentioned Percy to Elena at all in past conversations. To their knowledge, I was an only child.
"You have a half-sibling?" she was aghast, "How old is he?"
"Nineteen, but he is a few months older than me. We met when I moved to New York, our mom's decided that we should meet after dad died." that again was another lie in the backstory, I should probably keep a tally to be honest.
"Wow, okay." she swallowed audibly and looked to Damon, "We should probably get you sorted in a room upstairs, follow me."
She placed me in the room across from hers. Double bed and somewhat too comfortable from what I was used to. I was left alone to unpack which didn't take me too long, there wasn't much that I came with. After living with the Seven on the Argo II for almost a year it felt surreal to have a quiet house with no sudden explosions.

I joined them back in the kitchen after some time around the evening. Damon had disappeared and Elena was sitting on the bench making drinking tea.
"So what's your plans for tonight?" Elena queried while taking a sip from her mug.
"I mean, I'm just going to get settled in and then tomorrow explore the place." I shrugged, there was no actual plans that I had thought of while I would be here, since Chirons instructions were pretty clear: relax.
Elena shrugged, "It's the beginning of Senior Year so we are planning for Prank Night tonight if you would like to come and join?"
"I'm not a senior in your high school though?"
"It doesn't matter." she reasoned, "We need all hands on deck for this one, and besides, it'll give you a chance to catch up with Matt and Tyler." we smiled at each other, reminiscing with old memories.
When I was young, I was more friends with the boys, given that I had more energy and drive for the outdoors. Though I was friendly with Bonnie and Caroline, their want to stay inside and play house with dolls held no desire for me.
"Yeah sure, I'll come along then." I went to pick up my keys and follow her out the door, "What could go wrong?"
