Life is like a book
Full of twists and turns
Characters come and go
Some so important,
They remain throughout the entire plot
You can't peek ahead, it ruins the story
But if you keep looking back,
You will never finish it
Each chapter can leave you awake all night
Details and story lines swirling around in your head
The pages whisper to you, seductive and inviting
Asking you to keep reading
But you can't rush it, or else you finish too soon
You need to, occasionally, just sit back
Let it all sink in
Allow the words to lull you to sleep
So you can wake another day and read on
Read and enjoy each passing page
Let those people come and go
Tolerate those others remaining
If only barely
Read on until, one day, you finish
And close the book of you life
And wait until you can begin again
