Chapter 3: Let's go outside!

Grand duke Lysander's pov
Phew.Last week was a crazy week. Let me tell you what happened. I went into the town for an investigation. The Archangel duchy was inherited for many generations, since the kingdom of Spade was founded. We became the grand duchy just when my father was a great friend of the last king, I inherit the title after his retirement. The duchy was located by the ocean. We deal with a lot of trades from different countries via ships and boat and of course we have to deal with ..pirates. I was patrolling until this old lady caught me on the wrist. I don't know how she pass my guard but I'll make sure to talk(fire) them later. I'm quite close to my people if you ask me. They know me well enough to recognize me, but probably not enough to touch me without consent. Nobody like to be touch suddenly by stranger.

"Today is your lucky day, you'll finally have your daughter back in no time." she said while flashing a smile at me.

I was thankful, she said I'm lucky but what's the meaning of 'have a daughter back'. My daughter is at home, safe in the castle. She wasn't kidnapped neither. And I am sure she's my daughter, only the Archangel have silver white locks in this whole kingdom. My question has yet to be answer, and she give me more confusion.

"Find the high priest, your grace. Your daughter was possessed by a demon, lowly demon which do not take form, absorb on the host life energy. Save her! Save your daughter!" She yelled at me, I didn't mind but how could I believe such thing. My daughter is just a bit naughty or what I have heard form maids in the castle. She's not a demon in disguise. She's a cute little doll.

"That's Wanderer Mary, your grace. You should listen to her. The angel gave her the power of intuition, you must have heard of her. She predict very big thing, she even predict the war between the two kingdom, Diamond and Club" said Jake who was passing by. he was an investigator from the White shark guild. I knew him because I used his service before. He is a talented young man. He knows how to find information.

"Your decision will decide the future, your grace. It is up to you" with that she disappear into dark alley. I gulped. Now, I have to think hard, the advise wasn't from a nobody, she's somebody, and I can't ignore her.

When I was back to the castle, I quickly wrote a letter to the high priest. After waiting for a week which is to day, instead of coming to our duchy, the high priest sent us another old lady with a letter. The letter from the high priest stated that the old lady was blessed with the power of lowly demon exorcism. We exchange greeting then I brought her to my daughter.

The result is magnificent! She called me her 'Dada' and kissed my cheek. I'm in tears.

I gave the exorcist a big thank you. My daughter was cute since she was born but she became even CUTER. I usually walk in when she throws tantrum and screaming and then got drag back to work. Come to think of it, I'm not a very good dad. I didn't give enough time to my 3 years old son and two years old daughter. Astoria and Leonard are probably very lonely as a child because their father was busy working and Aelin, their mother, isn't good with children. I don't blame her, she's probably busy with the castle financial too. I hope she can finally adjust to the fact that she's a mother of 2 children now. At least come and take a glimpse of their figures once in a while couldn't be that bad. Now I heard that Leonard went to play with the princes in the main castle last week, and he doesn't want to come back to the castle of storm. But he will be home before next week, I'll make sure of that. He has to meet his cute sister.

I am currently working in my office. It's been a day now since I last saw my daughter's cute face.*sigh* I miss her already.

*knock**knock**knock*

I lift my eyes off the papers as I heard the knock."Come in" I said as the door to my office open to reveals two figure, Wendy the nurse and my baby girl in her arm.

Speak of the devil~ and the little devil come to my office. I could feel my smile creeping on to my face.

"I apologize for interrupting your work, your grace, but the lady demand to your presence and command to bring her to you." she said sheepishly which I ignore. What could be more important than my little girl want to see me, how precious.

"Hi, little doll. What brings you to dada office, hm?"

My daughter small body jumps down from the nurse arm and ran to me. I sit her on my lap facing me. My hand support her back , prevent her from falling.

"Dada, I want to.. I want to play outside"

"Then let's go to the garden" I was about to lift her on my neck but she tuck my tie, so I look at her. She looks like she has a question.

"Is garden outside the castle?"

"No Aster, the garden is inside the castle. You see, our castle is very big" I lift my hands up to show her how big, and she imitate me! HOW CUTE. but she almost fall over so I quickly caught her.

"GOTCHA!"

*Phew!* I sigh.

Almost got heart attack. Then I heard someone giggled. The most beautiful sound ever. Her eyes squint while she giggled because the smile on her face. I couldn't help but put, what I bet, the goofiest smile I'll ever wore my entire life.

"Dada, I want to go outside the castle!" She look at me with her diamond like eyes, I could see them sparkling. But outside is a dangerous place I don't want anything to harm her.

Maybe a white lie could help."Outside have scary monsters, you don't want to go outside."

"Lying is bad, Wendy taught me that, I remember." She then pout at me. How very cute, but I'm a liar to her now. Nooo;0;

"I'm sorry Astoria, I didn't mean to lie. But outside is dangerous, and you are a daughter of the grand duke. If anything happen to you, there will a lot of problems." I try to talk her out of it. My daughter should understand.

"But dada look so strong. Dada can protect me?" Her doe eyes begging me.

Oh, I didn't think of that. It'd be safe because she's with me. We could just go with together for the stroll.

"Both of us together this Saturday ... sounds like a plan. How about we bring your brother Leo with us?" Leonard will be the next to inherit the title, I should get him to be familiar with the people.

"Yay" She flashed a bright smile.

How can I say no to this girl. definitely IMPOSSIBLE.
