Chapter 25: Final Truth

One week Later

Naruko P.O.V

"So Sasuke was all like, 'Sakura, stop being so cute~' and I was like, 'No, you're the cute one!' Isn't that adorable, Naruko? Our love is so pure!" Sakura boasted happily with a cocky laugh.

What a freaking liar...Sasuke would rather die than say that.

We were walking to Ichiraku's and Sakura would not stop boasting about her imaginary relationship with Sasuke. Even if I was oblivious to her lies, I knew Sasuke.

My blood was boiling at the sound of her lies, and with every step we walked, the anger in my heart began to scream louder. But I had to endure, because by the end of the day, she'll be exposed for what she is: a liar.

"Naruko?"

I jumped at the sound of her voice calling my name. "Y-yes?"

"You've been really quiet. Are you okay?"

Yeah, it's not like you're lying about being with Sasuke or anything.

"I'm fine...just hungry," I said as we walked into Ichiraku's.

"That's what I thought!" She laughed.

I rolled my eyes internally as I looked at the time.

Shikamaru P.O.V

I knocked on Sasuke's door, waiting for him to open.

Please be here...

Suddenly, the sound of the door being opened caught my attention, and I watched Sasuke poke his head through the crack of the door angrily. His eyes were red, his hair was a mess, his clothes were stained and dirty, and he smelled like a dirty teenage boy.

I quickly held my nose to try and block the disgusting scent. "Ugh Sasuke, when was the last time you showered?!"

"Does it matter? Why are you even here?"

I sighed at his grouchy attitude before speaking: "I gotta show you something important."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah."

He rolled his eyes and began to close the door. Before he could close it completely, I grabbed onto the door desperately and tried to hold it open.

"I know the truth behind you and Naruko!" I yelled.

"What...?"

He slowly opened the door, allowing me to speak.

"I know the truth...Naruko was never pregnant. It was just a set up that Sakura came up with."

His jaw slowly dropped, and his eyes began to water. "There's no way...how could Sakura trick me...?"

"If you dont believe and you want to hear it from her directly, come with me," I said as I held out my hand.

He hesitated to take my hand, and right when he was about to take it, he backed off. "No...Naruko and I are over."

I slapped my face angrily. "Sasuke, are you serious right now?!"

He stayed silent as he looked at the ground in shame.

"Listen Sasuke, Naruko has never lied to you, not even once! She's still in love with you!"

"...Even if that's true...I know she doesn't trust me the way she trusts Sakura...if she would have spoken to me, than none of this would have happened."
