Nick and his friends peddled untill they found a gas station, no one was there so the filled their backpacks as much as they could. They left a tin with $5.56 dolors in it. They had also grabbed as many waters as possible. Nick had decided they should stay the night at the gas station. "I want to go home, I wish this never happened! I just want this to end.." Said Lyla sadly. The next day, the woke before dawn and started peddling. "We should go to California, there is a beach." Said West hopefully. "I like that idea!" Said Lyla and Nick at the same time. They smiled and joked, even though all around them, life had ended. Lyla and Nick sped ahead trying to race each other when West called out, "I found something!!" As he picked up a locket, with a picture of a women with curly dark brown hair with her arm around a girl around the age of 4 or 5 with short dirty blond hair, "Oh no, I wonder who lost this, I hope they are both okay.." Said Lyla almost to her self. Nick picked it up and put it in his pocket. They started peddling north west, that will lead them to L.A. They peddled endlessly, for hours. Nick missed home, but, he knew that somewhere, there was a nice grass field, with a small river running through it. The group found a small town, with only four or five house, a gas station, school and a store. They went into the store and stocked up again, paying with $3.51 dolors. As they got ready for another night, Lyla asked everyone, "What are we doing? It take six hours to drive! It is going to take days to get there, if not more!" "I don't care! We need to keep moving, keep moving." Answered West, "Both of you guys, calm down! We need to stay focused." Said Nick over their bickering. No one talked as they got in bed, and no one spoke when they got up either.
