"Congratulations Haley!! I knew you would make it!!" I hear Phoebe say as we head to the bathrooms.

"You will certainly win this time! I feel it!" says Phoebe taking off her leotard.

She is an amazing gymnast! Way better than I am! But she doesn't show that to me! That's what I like about her.

"Phoebe you did amazingly too! You will certainly beat me up there!" I say taking off my leotard as well.

Phoebe is my best friend. It's difficult to think of it this way because we're always in competition with each other. But I'm always happy when she wins and even if she comes first than me (which is always the case) I feel like a part of me is winning too. We always support each other and we also learn from our own mistakes. She's like the sister I never had.

"I'll be here in minute" says Phoebe staring at her phone as she rushes outside the toilet.
I take off my leotard remaining only with some leggings and my bra. As I wash my face I feel the smell of a high quality perfume. A smell I can feel even if I'm miles away from it. I can feel it even if mixed with other high quality perfumes.

I turn around and my heart beats as fast as millions of drums. An electric wave passes through my whole body. My hands shake as my whole seems not to respond to my feelings. It like watching a dead body from outside of me. All of my senses are overwhelmed. I can feel, touch, smell, hear with all the parts of my body. It's like watching a movie and finding out the end. Or dreaming and not being able to wake up. Or climbing a mountain and arriving at the top after a tiring trip. Or finding a hidden treasure in the middle of the ocean. Or even starting to read a book but going to the end of it to know the end when you'll finally finish it.

A strange feeling starts to grow inside me. A little part of me knows this day is about to change my life. As he steps closer I feel like all hot particles in the air are attaching to my skin creating a shield no one can break.

His messy brown hair dance in the air and try to free themselves as leaves falling from trees.
I stare at his defined abs and strong arms as he takes off his t-shirt ready to shower.

I stare at his ocean blue eyes. They are so deep I could drown in them. His white lucent teeth with a smile that reaches his ears makes my heart beat even faster. Makes me stare at him even more. Makes me come closer to him.

I stare at him for another 2 seconds, enough to let me realize it.

"This is the boys bathroom" and there in that same instant my mind begins to spin again.

I look at my bra again and at his face. Oh no!

"I-I-I'm sorry I was just washing-" I say reaching for my leotard but still looking him right in the eyes.

"It's fine, bathrooms here don't have a label. But it has always been like this".
His voice is like a melody that enters in my eyes and travels all the way to the heart.

"Ok. I-I'm going to go I have to be there for the award ceremony" I say grabbing my leotard.

"You do rhythmic gymnastics?" he asks looking me in the eyes. My heart starts beating at a very fast rate.

"Yes".

"Well, I play basketball" he says smiling.
"I really have to go now" I say looking at my phone.

"Yeah, sure. Break a leg!" he says and smiles.

"I'm Noah by the way".

"I'm Haley".

And with that last word I knew something was going to change. That even the darkest of places (the bathroom) can hide the bright ones (love).
