Chapter 2- Settling in the Sun

"Move your head fuck face!" A voice screamed at me. "W-what?" "Unless you want to fly back to New York, stay here." Then the voice left. How rude! I woke up and realized that the flight has boarded. I was glad I only had one suitcase with me. I rushed out the plane. I walked out the plane and into the area where people waited for people they were waiting for...hope that wasn't confusing. "Taylor! Taylor over here!" I know that voice. I searched the area until my eyes had landed on a man I never thought I'd never see again. He left me and my mom for another woman. But at this moment, I didn't care. Because I knew he loved me enough to come here. I ran over to my dad and gave him the biggest hug ever. He probably was mad but he seemed to have forgotten about that. "What were you thinking? Taylor that was a dangerous thing to do!" He half shouted, half worried. Nope. Never mind he did seem kind of mad. "Dad, I'll explain. Just please get me out of here." I begged. "Okay. Okay." He sighed. We drove back to his house. Wow! It's so sunny here in California. I love it! Even if I'm too pale..."So, honey. What...what were you planning?" My dad asked, not sure what to say. "Well, I planned to umm... Just stay away from New York as far possible. I didn't want to live there anymore. So I decided to just live somewhere else. And I've got enough money to last me 2 years and by then, I would've settled in because I would've gotten a job and a scholarship to a college. See? I got myself under control!" I explained. "And how much money are we talking here?" My dad asked. "Mmmm somewhere around 800 grand. I earned them from some competitions I've entered at science fairs or geek fairs as people called them. Oh and saving up from birthdays and my jobs. Quarter of them are pity money from school." I simply said. "Oh." My dad just said. The rest of the ride was in silence.

The past years, I've lost touch with my dad. I didn't know what he did for a living and not even his phone number. So I was in complete shock when I saw where he lived. He lived in a huge mansion that was like 4 football fields! Wow! "Dad...what do you do?" I asked while staring at the huge mansion. "Oh you know, just a little cruise ships I own here and there." He said sounding guilty. He was probably guilty, not helping my mom and all. He should be. He walked me into the entrance which took a while because his front lawn was huge! A huge fountain in the middle stood proud on the perfectly mowed lawn. Dad then fished out the keys. When he opened the door, I nearly fainted. It was beautiful. The floor was marble, a giant chandelier hung on the ceiling and a huge staircase spiraled upstairs on the side. In the middle was a small circular table and flowers sprouted on the center of the small table inside a vase. "Good afternoon sire." A man wearing a black suit said, greeting dad. "Good afternoon James. Taylor, this is James our butler. And James, this is my daughter, Taylor." Our dad introduced us. "Hi Sir James. Nice to meet you." I took out my hand for him to shake. "Likewise. Please, call me James." Then he shook my hand. "James has prepared your room. It is not much but it was what we could do over the rush of news." My dad informed. My dad left for a meeting to attend to so James lead me to my room instead. We went upstairs and went to a hall on our right. Then we turned left to another hall. My room was the last. It was the door parallel to the entrance of the hallway. It was... A double door! I walked in with awe. "I am sorry mistress. This was our only available guest room at the moment. We are renovating a new room on the other side of the house. If you don't mind, you will be staying here for a few months." James apologized. "N-no! This is the most amazing room ever! You don't need to make a new room! This one is already amazing!" I exclaimed. "Well we have already started the renovating, so it is too late. I will knock on your door when the chef has finished dinner." James informed. "Okay. Thank you for the welcome James." I thanked him sincerely. Then he walked out the room quietly. I spun around in the room and landed on the bed. 'Oh! It's soo soft!' The ceiling was angled into a triangle with yet another, chandelier hanging on the ceiling. At the end of the room was a rectangle carved into the wall where you can sit on and stare out the big window or something. The bed was a queen size and white. A picture on canvas of Paris and the Eiffel Tower was placed above my bed. It was beautiful! Across the room was a huge walk-in closet, all my clothes couldn't even occupy half of it! I looked out the window to see the backyard of the huge mansion. There was a large pool that had a mini waterfall, a garden filled with exotic flowers and a vast empty field. Hmmm..I wonder why that was empty. I finished unpacking my clothes and other items. I packed all my toiletries in the bathroom which I can't even begin to explain! It was too huge to describe! And I already knew I was going to settle in here just fine!

A/N: This book is not edited yet! It will be though after I finish like proof reading! So I know it will have bad grammar and stuff! And I actually write my stories on google docs on my phone and then paste it here. So it is hard for me to have those fonts and putting up banners. But soon I'm gonna get a new laptop or get my old one fixed.. So just hang right and deal with my phone!
