Chapter 5: wrong side of town

I met the whole gang Vince, Billy, Charlie, Eyeball fuzzy, Jack and well Ace they treated me like if i where part of the gang. They Also acted if i was a guy and just like Ace said they kept their hands to themsleves once they knew i was with Ace. It was still a hot summer and I wasn't with Ace or the gang so I decided to take a walk around town. I saw Chris, Gordie, Vern and teddy walking with sleeping bags. I haven't seen them since the thing that happened with Ace I ran towards them. "Hey guys!" I stopped right behind them and they turned around. "Hey Mari" Gordie slightly smiled "hey Mari I thought you couldn't see us? Chris looked at me confused I laughed. "Nobody tells me what to do kid." He nodded "where are you guys going?" I looked at their sleeping bags "don't tell no one but we are going to see a dead boy." Vern said "what he means is we are going to find the missing guy Ray Brower." I nodded "want to come?" Teddy looked up at me "I can't Ace will be looking for me." I frowned "are you dating him?" Chris asked and I shrugged "we go out and kiss but he never actually asked me out." I looked behind and I saw Charlie and Billy walking our way "you guys should go here comes the cobras." They looked behind and saw them "Bye!" They all said and walked away.

Charlie and Billy looked at the boys walking then at me "what did Ace tell you?" I rolled my eyes "don't start with that shit to I have enough with Ace and now you guys too?" I began to walk towards Irby's "you know Ace is going to get mad?" They followed me to Irby's "Not if nobody tells him." I shot them a glare "sorry can't keep a secret from him. One we can't keep it for ever and two if he finds out we didn't tell him it's history for us." Charlie said and opened the door "thanks." I walked towards where Ace was playing pool with Eyeball and Vince. "Hello boys." I smiled and Ace looked up "hey doll took you a while to get here." He grabbed by my waist and kissed me "yeah I was running a little late today." He nodded and began to play pool again as I sat down and drank a beer.

Ace POV
It was strange Mari wasn't here she was always on time and I looked at the clock "Hey Charlie, billy go walk around an look for Mari she isn't here yet." They both nodded and left to look for her I stayed playing with Eyeball and Vince. After a while I hear that familiar voice "Hello boys" I pulled her from her waist and kissed her. "Hey doll it took you a while to get here." She looked up at me "yeah I was running a little late." I nodded and began to play pool from the corner of my eye I saw her sit and drink a beer.

Charlie and Billy interrupted the game by leaning next to me "what do you guys want?! I'm playing here." I looked at both of them "we don't want to be tattle tells but we can't keep a secret from you." They said "we saw Mari talking to the Chris, Gordie, Vern and teddy again." I slammed the stick on the table and looked at Mari "Mari!?!" She looked at me and her eyes went wide "come here." She walked towards me "what's up?" She said and looked at me "what did I tell you, you are mine and you can't see those faggots no more!" She looked at billy and Charlie and she mumbled something to them. "So what if I was I like to have some friends yes the gang are also my friends. But ill like to make my own friend shit Ace I'm annoyed of you always telling me-." I slapped her so hard her hair got in her face and the gang was all looking at us.

Mari POV

I heard Ace slam the stick on the table I guess he lost this time then I heard him call me. I looked over at him and there was Charlie and billy my eyes went wide 'Shit' I thought myself. "Come here." I walked towards him and acted cool "what's up?" I asked "what did I tell you, you are mine and you can't see those faggots no more!" I looked over at Billy and Charlie "ratas." I mumbled and looked back at Ace "So what if I was I like to have some friends yes the gang are also my friends. But ill like to make my own friend shit Ace I'm annoyed of you always telling me-." I got cut off when I felt his heavy hand slap my face my hair whipped my face and I could feel eyes looking at me.
I looked at him and his eyes where ice blue like always and my temper raised. "You son of a bitch!!" I tackled him to the floor and began to punch him. He blocked some of my punches but I got him a few times I felt three pairs of hands pulling me away. "Leave me alone!" I tried to get away and get Ace again. "Touch me again and they won't be here to stop me Ace!" They pulled me outside and Ace followed. A bruise began to form on my right cheek it hurt "Ace we can't take her home with a bruise." Eyeball said "take her to my house and ill fix her up there" Ace said and got in his car. Eyeball sat in the back seat with me as billy and Charlie say In front of us. I covered myself with Eyeballs chest as I cried he rubbed my back letting me cry.

We pulled up to his house and I saw my house there wasnt any lights on it was barely 8 in the morning. Ace tried to pick me up Bridal style but I pushed him away "I can walk." I got out and entered his house it was like mine same everything. I sat down on the couch and after a while Ace came with and ice pack and put it on my cheek. I winced at first but the coldness numbed the pain "let me see your cheek." I put the bag down and showed him my cheek "you got a cut there so call your parents and make a story you are staying here." I stood up "I rather go stay with Eyeball than with you right now." I walked towards the phone and called the number "hey mom I'm staying over a friends house tonight and going to a drag race tomorrow with her." I listens to her rules "alright bye" I hung up and sat back down at the couch.

Ace left and I sat there alone Eyeball came in and sat next to me "Ace didn't mean to hit you it's just he has a temper also." I looked at Eyeball "yeah I noticed but why are you telling me this." He looked outside "I heard that you rather stay with me than him and now he is outside punching the wall." Eyeball looked at me and I stood up "he is doing what?!?" I ran outside and just like Eyeball said he was punching the wall. I pulled his arms making him stop "what are you doing?" He looked at me and kissed me his kiss where always full of lust. Eyeball left us alone and he looked at my bruise "I didn't mean to hurt you I just lost my temper when I found out you where with them again." I nodded and hugged him "I'm staying with you here okay?" He smiled and hugged me tight "alright."

Ace POV
~12:00pm~

Eyeball was driving my car meanwhile I was batting Mari was in the back seat with billy and Charlie waiting for her turn. I hit a wooden mailbox "Ahh shit! I'm out! Goddammit!" I sat down and "You shouldn't have gone for a wooden one. Huh-huh!" Eyeball said and I heard Mari chuckle I stared at Eyeball intensely . "Why don't you tell me something I don't know, asshole?" I handed the baseball bat to Billy "Billy, you're up." He didn't pick it up "Nah, you guys win. I don't wanna play no more." I took a quick glance at him then at Eyeball "Hey, you can't quit! We've only played three innings! That would be a non-official game!" Eyeball stated "Yeah hello have you seen baseball before 9 inning." Mari said backing up Eyeball "Hey, Ace. Uh, we..." Billy nudges him in the arm even if Mari is in the middle "What's with you homos? You guys've been acting psycho all day." The didn'tsay anything and I turned around to look at them. "What is it?" I asked getting annoyed "It's nothin'! It's nothin'! It's nothin', right?" Billy looked at Charlie who concurs. "Then, if you gentlemen don't mind, I'd like to finish this game before I start collecting my goddamn Social Security, okay? You're up Billy. Move it!" I said sternly "All right! Gimmie this fuckin' thing." He grabbed the bat and put himself in a batter position "Let's play ball!" I said and Mari said the same thing and a smirked at her "Yeah!" Eyeball said driving.
