Part 7: no more secrets and a dead body

I was with Ace and Charlie at Irby's we where playing pool well the guys where I was putting 'Get a Job' by the silhouettes on the jukebox right behind them. I could here Charlie say something to Ace "Ace, I got to tell you something, But swear on your mother's good name you won't tell." Charlie said seriously "You got it pal." Ace said as he hit the white ball with the pool stick.

Eyeballs POV

I was fishing with Billy at the bridge until Billy spoke up "Hey, Eyeball, you know that Brower kid?" I looked at him "what about him?" Billy sounded serious "I could tell you something about him but you got to swear I your mother's good name you won't tell nobody." Billy looked at me and I nodded

Mari POV

It was noon, Eyeball an Ace had told their secret to everybody in the gang.i guess for these guys protecting their mother's good name wasn't a top priority. I was not going to be part if this i knew Chris, Teddy, Vern and Gordie where there also. Ace put some fishing gear in the back seat of his car "Hey, Ace, uh... maybe me and Charlie shouldn't go." Billy spoke up "Yeah, maybe you guys could go without us." Charlie backed up Billy "yeah I will stay also look out for them." I said standing next to them Ace sighs "You guys are like my grandmother having a conniption fit. I don't see your problem. We brought a whole bunch of fishing gear, and if a cop asks us what we're doing here, we're just here to take a couple steelhead out of the river, and look what we found!" Ace said simply "Yeah! Come on, man, we're gonna be famous! We're gonna be on every radio and TV show in the country!" Charlie looked at Ace "I still don't think we should go." I spoke up again "I just don't want to go guys."
Ace rolled his eyes "Okay... okay..." His eyes showed anger in them "you've stated your position clearly. Now I'm gonna state mine." I looked away "get in the fucking car, now!" I jumped a little and he got I his car Charlie and Billy followed. "Good luck guy!" I waved hoping I could escape from this "I said get in the car!!" Ace barked "like I said 'dog that barks doesn't bite." I sat I the middle of Ace and Billy Charlie sat in the back ace out a hand around me. "Don't ever disrespect me in front of my friends" he whispered in my ear and I rolled my eyes.

Ace POV

'Yakety yak' by the Coaster blasted out of both our car radios as we drove. I was right behind Vince and I decided to take the lead and win him again at a small race. I stepped on the gas pedal, honked and drove to the next lane and took a drink out of my beer. Everybody in the car was whopping even Mari was too she was holding a beer in her hand drinking also.
I swerved my car next to them an smirked "NO WAY ACE! Not this time man!" Vince said and pointed at me. "Go for it, Vince Go for it" I smirked and Mari kept flipping the other guys "Oh yeah?" Vince said an I stepped on the gas so did Vince. "Oh, my god, I got 'em! I GOT 'EM! " I looked at the log truck and I glared I wasn't going to let him win. "You're history, guy! History!" vince smiled "fall back Ace!" Mari said and I ignored her "come on don't fuck around." Billy said "Jesus Christ, Ace! Fall back, man." Charlie said from the back seat and the truck honked at us. From the corner of my eye I saw Mari chug down her beer "don't fuck around." They kept saying and I just kept driving "fall back man!" "We're going to die!" I felt Mari bury her face on my arm as the boys screamed. The log truck swerved to left and dropped a de logs and I ran very one of them. I saw the boys look surprised from my move I sped up and got in font of them. "Shit, Man! Shit!" Vince said mad that I won "I won." I took a drink from my beer "you are crazy ace but I love it." Mari kissed my cheek and I smiled. "You let him beat you, you Cock-knocker." Eyeball laughs at Vince and we drove to 'The Back Harlow Road'

Mari POV

I can't believe he almost killed us but what a rush I always had so much fun with him and the guys. The cut from my cheek disappeared but the bruise was still there I looked at myself from the rear mirror and sigh. Ace kisses my bruise "I'm sorry... I said it so many times." He said and I nodded "I know ace but I still got you with that bruise on your jaw." I grinned and he smirked at me I was hoping we get there first so there wouldn't be a problem with the guys.
