Chapter 2: Knowing

Katherine had gotten Noah to her house, she was helping him out of the car and everything but what Noah was gonna tell he was going to break her heart. Katherine had laid Noah on the couch, she left real quick to get a first aid kit. She sat right next to him and cleaned all the cuts and bruises, Katherine had seen he was in real pain while she was cleaning the cuts and touching the bruises lightly.

"Noah, get some rest, I'm not leaving and you can explain to me what happened." He nodded and closed his eyes and fell asleep. I got up and went to the patio, I was heartbroken. It reminded me of the times that I used to be abused by my past exes. They would punch me, kick me, and treat me like trash. I looked at him and saw that someone that had done this wanted him to closely see death but allowed him to live. I didn't know what I should do, but I wanted to know who had done this. Noah woke up, he looked at me and I didn't know what to do, so I ran to him and sat.

"Katherine, this was my dad. He is in the mafia with my mom. They're known as the biggest mafia in the world. They're called the lions I never wanted to be part of, but they keep trying to convince me to but I refuse. They told me that they will keep on coming for me until I accept but that's the thing I don't want to do." Katherine had tears in her eyes, she didn't know that his own family was betraying him. She didn't understand what was the big deal of him becoming a mafia leader. Noah leaned in close to her and whipped the tears that were coming from her eyes. Katherine looked up at him, he had this look that he was sorry he didn't want her to get involved with. He explained that she must not tell anyone, Katherine had a secret that she didn't want no one to know but she had promised that she would not tell a soul. Katherine had made another promise that she wanted to make sure he would be safe. She had promised him that she would protect him in any way and she promised that he could stay with her. Noah looked at her as if she was crazy, she knew what she was getting herself into but she still went with it. I know the consequences but this boy's life is on the line and I know that I barely know him and his intentions but I'm letting someone take an innocent life. I can't let that happen.

"Katherine, do you have clothes that I can change into?"

"Yeah let me see if my brother has some spare clothes."

I saw the clothes he had were bloody, sweaty, and dirty. I went to Jack's room and grabbed some clothes for him.

"Here you go some clean clothes"

"Katherine, I think I'm gonna need help getting to the bathroom."

"Oh right!"

I helped him off the couch and we walked to the bathroom. I saw he was struggling with his shirt. I asked him if he needed help, he moved his head up and down. I walked towards him and helped him take off his clothes. He looked sad that it was heartbreaking to see him like that. I would usually see him as this loving and smiling guy but I saw a different side of him. He had made me feel like there was more than what I know, he just gave me those sad eyes that had a story that needed to be told. Katherine wanted to know more about his family history. She had gone to a library where it stays open for 24 hours. She had found old newspapers of his family, his family is the biggest mafia in the entire world; everyone that has known becomes part of them or dies.

Even their own family was put to death over the fact that they didn't want to join the mafia. I knew I was going to find something like this. Katherine quickly went home to Noah. As soon as she arrived at the house she ran inside and spoke to Noah about what she found out. Noah was in shock he knew he would have to pick. I was scared for Noah's sake. If he picked the mafia then he would turn into something that he isn't but if he didn't then he would die. Noah grabbed his phone and called someone, he spoke to them for a minute then hung up. I didn't want to ask who it was. I waited for him to tell me but he didn't say anything.
