After the happenings in Hong, Hong Chao became the leader of Hong and Xue Han became the leader of Xue. At first he didn't want the position but Xue Liang convinced him after Hong Chao secretly came to Xue to tell Xue Liang that Xue Han was unwilling to kill Xue ZhaoZe until the very last moment so Hong Chao killed his father, following the prince's order.
After Xue Han remembered everything, the nightmares disappeared for good. The nightmares disappeared but not Hong Chao. Although he was now the head of Hong, he was more at Xue than Hong, not missing any chance to see his sugar. Xue Han was always so busy but he never complained about his visits, on the contrary was looking forward for his secret lover's visits. Well, it wasn't a secret though, everyone in Xue and Hong palace, even Jin Guang and the queen knew their relationship by that time.
Soon after Hong Chao and Xue Han became leaders to their clans, the king died and Jin Guang took the throne. As he promised he united the country like in the old days. They say history is all about repetitions, perhaps it is true as they also restored the abandoned tunnel in order to reinforce the relationships between Hong, Xue and Jin.
