Becca's POV
Ob's idea was risky (like every other idea she has), but it was the best one we could come up with. This Friday, Ms. Violet was holding parent/teacher conferences, which meant Jack would be out of the house for at least half an hour. More than enough time to set everything up.
It didn't take long to find a song that worked for her plan. (Author: It's the one above.) Alex had sent it to me shortly after I moved here. I quickly ate a sandwich, and waited for Jack to come home. When I heard the door to the apartment open, I hit play and started to dance.
Jack's POV
I returned from parent/teacher conferences in a good mood. Ms. Violet seemed like a nice teacher, and Becca was doing well in her class. I stepped into the living room, and heard music coming from down the hall. Becca must be dancing again. I was heading to the kitchen, when I felt this strong compulsion to go to Becca's room. I shrugged it off, but the farther I walked away, the stronger the urge got. Eventually, I turned around and walked down the hall. It was similar to the way that I was when Anti took control (back when he let me see what was going on), but the source was coming from outside of my body rather than from inside.
Becca's door was cracked open, and the only light was coming from the hallway and her phone. It was exactly like it was last time, i.e. she was facing away from her phone dancing, her shadow different from her body. Only this time, her shadow wasn't dancing. And there was another shadow beside it. Mine.
My shadow was conjuring something from somewhere, and Becca's shadow was watching. When my (or Anti's, which seems more likely) shadow turned around, it threw something at Becca's. There was a temporary black out, and then the shadows were facing each other. Anti's made a gesture that, combined with the music, told me all I needed to know. Becca did a spin and saw me, and immediately stopped. She turned on the light and turned off the music.
"Jack! I didn't hear you come in," she said. Even though she had been dancing for most of the song, she didn't seem to be out of breath.
"I just came back," I replied. A thought had started going through my head. Could Becca have been trying to tell me something? I had to make sure, but I needed to be careful in case I was right. Or wrong for that matter. "Is that weird shadow thing one of Ob's special powers?"
"Yeah," she replied. "She's been able to do it since we were little. It took her awhile to get that good though."
"Does she ever... um... create images of things that have happened?" I asked. Becca's face turned white for a millisecond, but the color returned just as quickly.
"Nope," she said. "She just shows what's going on in the song."
"Alright. I'm going ta record some videos, an' then I'll get dinner ready," I said as I walked out of the doorway.
My mind began to wonder as I got the game started. Becca turned pale as a ghost when I asked her, and as soon as she saw me. Could something have happened while Anti was controlling my body? I don't think l'll get answers from Becca, and definitely not Anti, but I have to find out.
Becca's POV
"I think it worked," I said. "Great job, Ob."
Becca: It worked like a charm.
Ob: Yup.
"Won't... talk...," she huffed, clearly out of breath. "Used... too much... energy."
"Whatever. I just hope that Anti doesn't see through it."
"Even... if he does... we technically... didn't tell him... we showed him."
"I hope Anti doesn't care about that loophole."
Anti's POV
"Jack's gettin' suspicious," I said.
"What?" Dark asked. "How?"
"I think the Shadow-dancer has somethin' ta do with it. She an' her demon are crafty."
"We'll have to bump our time table up. I want the girl by the end of the week."
"Yes, sir."
Author: Anti and Dark are up to something! BTW, the next chapter will be an intermission.
Becca: And don't forget to absolutely mash that star!
Ob: And while you're at it, recommend this story to as many of your friends as you can.
Author: The song up top is "Secret" by The Pierces.
Lyrics:
Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear, this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Takin' this one to the grave
If I show you, then I know you
Won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is deadWhy do you smile
Like you've been told a secret
Now you're tellin' lies
'Cause you have sworn to keep it
But no one keeps a secret
No one keeps a secret
Why when we do our darkest deeds
Do we tell?
They burn in our brains
Become a living hell
'Cause everybody tells
Everyone tellsGot a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear, this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Takin' this one to the grave
If I show you, then I know you
Won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is deadLook into my eyes
Now you're getting sleepy
Are you hypnotized
By secrets that you're keeping?
I know what you're keeping
I know what you're keepingGot a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear, this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Takin' this one to the grave
If I show you, then I know you
Won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is dead"Allison?"
"Yes, Catherine"
"I have something I want to tell you, but
You have to promise to never tell anyone"
"I promise"
"Do you swear on your life?"
"I swear on my life"
You swore you'd never tell
You swore you'd never tell
You swore you'd never tell
You swore you'd never tellGot a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear, this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Takin' this one to the grave
If I show you, then I know you
Won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret
If one of them is deadGot a secret
Can you keep it?

If one of them is dead
Yes, two can keep a secret
If one of us is dead
