Chapter 7- But The Girl Was In Trouble

-11:49pm, 5th January 2019-

(Tom's POV)

The storm has stopped, but it was still pitch black. The vehicle stopped in front of a highschool "Why'd we stop?" I asked, sitting up "Be quiet" Patryck whispered, rolling down the windows a bit, a faint scream came from the highschool "You hear that?" Patryck asked "Could just be the dead chasing someone-" "Tom" Tord placed his hand over my mouth. "Shut up or we'll kill you!" we heard a faint sound of a boy yelling "Emerald, stay in the car" I commanded, as me, Patryck, Paul, Matt and Tord got out of the car. We snuck over to the bushes near the school fence, Patryck pulled out his rifle, looking through the scope and pulling a face "What's happening?" I asked "A few teenage boys, one is raping a girl" even though the world has gone to shit, the assholes still think with what's between their legs. I tapped on Patryck's shoulder "Can I have a look?" Patryck handed me the rifle, I looked through the scope and recognized the boys "Its the assholes Matt and I scared off the night after the storm" we really should've killed those kids. I handed the rifle back to Patryck "Paul and Matt, stay here near the car. Me, Patryck and Tord will sort out the assholes and get the girl". A minute later, we surrounded the boys, now coming out of the shadows "Pull up your pants and back away from the girl!" Patryck yelled as the boys flung their hands into the air seeing two guys pointing guns at their heads "On the ground!" Tord boomed, the boys cowering and dropping onto their knees "Pat, help the girl" Tord commanded as I walked over to the boys, one of them recognizing me... it was Jake. "Shit!" Jake bolted to the gate, until Tord shot him in the leg, the boy screamed out as a heard of dead came through the gate towards us "Holy shit-run!!!" I yelled, the four of us running into the highschool, Patryck and the girl ran into a classroom before the hallway got blocked off by the dead. Me and Tord ran up stairs. There was broken glass everywhere and of course Tord had to trip over it, he got up and pulled a shard out of his shirt. I grabbed his hand and dragged him into the nurse's office, closing and locking the door as the dead pounded on it....
