Maya's Story

Chapter One: Maya's Story

One day, Maya was walking along one of the side roads leading into town. Her Parents have this huge house and it has a vast beautiful yard. Her father was the richest man in the town but also happens to be the king too. And it was forbidden to date any humans or marry them for that matter. Her family was very old and they lived to a ripe old age of 20. Maya's whole entire family were vampires and they never married humans. Her father had always made that very clear to her. Her mother died when Maya was an infant. There was a lot of forest and it was easy to get lost. However, for Maya, she knw the forest very well. Maya decided not to go intow town but she decided to take a walk through the forest. As she did she stumbled across an unconscious young man. She knew she couldn't bring him home because her father would have him killed. She also couldn't bring him into town because the townsfolk were very suspicious of them. Then, she suddenly remembered that, there was an old cottage, close by. She picked him up and brought him to the cottage. After she put him in the bed, she ran and got some wood for the fire. She ran back to town and stole a whole bunch of food. When she returned, the young man was just awakening.

The man said " How.......How did I get here and Who are you???"

Maya replied " The latter of the question is Who are you and What are you doing in my forest??"

The Mad replied" My name is Ted Beerbottom. I was traveling, when my horse got spooked and then I tumbled down a cliff. I, then tried to find my horse, when I tripped and hit my head. Wait; did you say your forest?"

Maya said " Well, Ted, my name is Maya Winchester and Yes this just so happens to be mine. My father gave this to me, when I was born."

Ted replied slowly " I have heard that last name before!'

Maya said " You probably would've, my father is Tavington Winchester"

Ted said "Ah, I see."

Maya replied quickly " Listen, I have to get back or my father will send a search party. I will see you tomorrow and I shall bring drinks and more food"

Ted replied " Bye, Maya"

Now, when Maya left the cottage, she started to feel something strange. She was extremely confused about the way, she was starting to feel.  She ran as fast as she could to get home. She finally, stopped running right before she got to the gate aqnd began to walk. She entered the house; nobody was there, which is unusual.

Maya shouted " Father, I'm home"

Her father replied " There is no reason to shout, Maya"

Maya replied " Yes, father, but it looked like nobody was home"

Her father replied " Ah, yes, I gave them the day off." "Where have you been?"

Maya said "In the forest, father"

Her father replied cooly, " If I hear or catch you near the forest again, you will be punished"

Maya replied " Yes, father"

Now that her father had cleared that up. She was going to have a hard time seeing Ted again. She woke up, the next moring really early, went down to the kitchen and got some food. She had left a note, telling her father, she was going into town. Instead, of actually going into town, she went to the cottage. She knocked at the door and there was no answer. She started to worry, thinking the worst had happened. She thought her father had found him and killed him. So, she opened the door cautiously and found Ted still asleep. She let out a sigh of relief. She just stood there for a minute, watching Ted sleep peacefully. She decided to wait till Ted woke up. She put the food; she had got into the cupboards and sat in a chair. Unbeknownest to Maya, for her safety, her father had sent two guards, to follow her ever move and they were to report back to her father about all her activities. Now, Maya wasn't entirely sure how she felt for him. However, Ted was falling for Maya. Maya could never marry him because it was forbidden. But Maya thought maybe they could have some sort of secret relationship. It was a risk, she was willing to take. After a while, Maya got bored of waiting, so she quietly snuck out. But she decided not to go back home right away. The two guards who had followed her, one of them stay on Maya, while the other one ran back to report to her father.
