The sun frosted the tips of the trees and the morning birds began to sing. I gently shake my green scaled friend and climb out of bed.
"Good morning Pascal" I say when he finally wakes up. I place him on my shoulder and quickly head down stairs to begin the day. I grab the broom and start on my chores. Humming to a tune as I sweep the tower.
Once I finish I race to the window and peer outside. A soft breeze blows through my long hair and the sweet smell of mint from nearby plants dances in the air. "Look at that view!" I say to Pascal "Isn't it the most wonderful thing ever!" He squeaks in agreement.
"Rapunzel! get down from there!" The voice surprises me and I end up falling backwards onto the floor. "thud!"
"Ow" I grab the back of my head pain rushes through my body.
"Darling are you okay?" Mother walks over to me but doesn't help me up. I get to my feet.
"Yeah I..i'm fine just a bump" I lie
"You must be careful" mother warns "Your fragile..."
"Like a flower" I grin
"That's right" she doesn't smile "Now go make us some breakfast."
