Epilogue
Suddenly, I didn't want to run up to him and demand he ran away with me.
Suddenly, I was too afraid.
I felt childish and stupid.
How could be possibly run away? Where would we live? What about school?
Where are we going to get money?
I was about to walk away when he turned around.
He must have felt my presence because I was sure I had been dead silent.
"Emerald?" He asked like he couldn't believe it," they let you leave?"
"Y-yeah," I muttered.
"W-why? How?" He stuttered, hardly believing me," I thought you'd be locked up somewhere by now."
He stepped closer to me, his scars and bruises showing up more with every step.
Suddenly, it hit me hard.
The fight we've put up against reality for our love has gone for way too long.
We fought so hard and broke every single rule and look where we are now. We can't win.
If we leave each other, our souls would drift away and if we stay together we will lose everything, maybe even our lives.
We are at risk either way.
"emerald?" Blade was saying," are you okay."
The truth was I wasn't okay. I didn't want to admit to myself but all of this stress and sadness that I have been trying to hide has build up and I was tired.
I was depressed and all I wanted was some piece and quite.
"Em? Talk to me."
I was sick and tired of playing the tough girl, I wanted to curl up at bed and listen to some corny, slow instrumental and fall asleep like I used to when my life was still normal.
"Run away with me," I whispered the words so faintly that they barely entered my own ears.
"What?" Blade asked.
"Run away with me," I repeated with a bit more volume.
"Emerald, there are other ways-"
"There are three choices Blade," I snapped," we stay together and they kill us both, we leave each other and our wolves depression kills us both, or we run away and nobody will be able to hurt us. Not even ourselves."
"Where will we go?" He asked," what about school, and money and-"
"My mom planned something with the taxi driver. Lets see where it will take us."
"What taxi driver?"
"come with me."
Hand in hand, we walked towards the taxi and got in. He looked at us through the review mirror and smiled.
He started the engine and began to drive.
"Where are we going?" Asked blade.
"Don't worry, it's a nice place," he answered.
About half an hour later, we reached a large clearing.
It seemed strangely familiar.
The driver drove deeper into the clearing revealing a large pond that's when it hit me.
It was like a sudden drop at a roller coaster.
My heart, thudding on its way, sank deep into my pit and I felt my hands shaking as I muttered," this can't be the spot."
