CHAPTER 12 - Help, I'm Getting Interrogated

It is truly an interesting experience to be interrogated by your friends. This fact, I had only learned recently, as Toukichi bugged me for a good three hours after my meeting with her Highness. He apparently was jealous of the fact that I got to meet the Queen despite being a recruit, while he never met the Queen despite being a veteran.

"Yo, so how did the meeting go? What was your impression on the Queen?"

"To be frank, I think that only one word would be adequate to describe the Queen."

"Which is...?"

"God."

"God?"

"Yeah, as simple as it sounds. It might sound childish, but the Queen seemed like a god in human form."

"Were you told to say that?"

"No, of course not. The queen didn't even mention the word "god" during the entire time I was talking with her. That word just popped into my mind."

"That's funny, but kinda freaky."

"What makes you say so?"

"Everyone who's ever met the queen always says something along those lines. Regardless of age, gender, personal history, or personality, everyone says that. Even Yamato."

"Wow, first time I heard of that. And who's Yamato again?"

"Ah, an old arrogant childhood burden, who's in charge of all Organization activities in the Kanto Region."

"In other words, a very close childhood friend who's immensely powerful?"

"Basically, yes. I gotta introduce him to you sometime soon. I'm sure that you'll get along pretty well."

"Then what's that smirk on your face?"

"Ah, nothing, nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Then why do I get a feeling that something bad's going to happen?"

"No worries, no worries. I wouldn't abandon a comrade, would I?"

"Fine. I'll just trust your word for it, since you haven't misled me yet."

"What do you mean "yet"?"

"Nothing."

"Hey guys! What are you guys talking about?"

"Amane?" (Toukichi + Haruto)

"You know her?" (Toukichi)

"Yeah, she's my classmate." (Haruto)

"She goes to school?!" (Toukichi)

I could see question marks spinning around his head.

"Hey jerk! I heard that!" (Amane)

"Is it that weird for Amane to go to school?"

"She's dumb as a rock and usually just lazing around, so I thought that she was receiving homeschool or something."

"Can I just punch you right now?" (Amane)

"Can you not say that while punching me?" (Toukichi)

"I heard that only stupid people answer questions with questions, so doesn't it mean that you're both stupid?" (Haruto)

"Shut your trap!" (Amane + Toukichi)

"Sorry!" (Haruto)

"So, did you heed my advice?" (Amane)

"Yeah, I actually got to meet the Queen. I really was impressed, it was as if she was a-"

"God in mortal form?"
