~Wish I could find my way back to Wonderland~

~Wonderland, Ke$ha~

CHAPTER 7

I screamed and jumped out of the silken bed. He jumped onto the end of the bed and grinned. His eyes flashed with happiness. He took a swing at me. A swing and a miss.

I jumped off the bed and ran down the marble hallway. I felt like a crazy person. Maybe I was just plain crazy. There wasn't really a psychopathic hatter with an axe chasing me, right? It had to be a dream. This couldn't be Wonderland.

The footsteps chasing me reminded me why I was still running. I didn't want to die, I was only 15!

I didn't know where to go for this, the Red Queen's castle was confusing.

I was in her throne room, as I could see. She was in her throne, sitting. In the middle of the night? There is something wrong with this woman. I shook my head and ran through another door. She was just sitting there, she didn't notice. I ended up in a maze, the door behind me disappearing. I ran through the maze, hearing grumbles behind me. I came to a point in the maze where there were two doors. I took the one on the left and entered a bar where people were cheering with mugs of beer. I went back to the door and opened it, but I was greeted with the cold snow. But I was still in the castle. I saw another door and I ran for it.

I came to the outside of the castle, the desert lying before me. I ran, looking behind me. He may have taken the other door. I hope he did. But I still kept running. Where was I? A wooden sign said I was in South Trotters Bottom. I shook my head and kept running.

The sun poured onto me, making sweat drip off my body. Was this seriously the place my mother ranted about? The sweet, magical place she was in love with? The Hatter had seriously gone mad. The Cheshire Cat wasn't a fun, smiling crazy cat. I didn't even think this was the place my mother had once been in love with. But something happened to this place. Something happened to the Hatter. That something I was going to find out.

He had chosen the right path. He was running for me. He was mad. He was insane.

And he wanted me to die.

And this time, I embraced that fact. I knew there was no escaping him now. His devilish grin was filling my mind. I gulped, and he slammed his axe down next to me. I flinched, and he laughed.

"Why do you want to kill me?!" I shrieked.

"It is what Alice would want...." He slurred.

"I am Alice's child! She is my mother!" I yelled.

"But... What?"

"She. Is. My. Mother."

"Impossible."

"Nothing is impossible."

"That's what she always said..."

"I know."

He fell to the ground, dropping his axe. He buried his ash covered face in his hands, and his hat fell off his head. I crawled over and picked it up, and placed it on his head.

He grabbed my wrists and I jumped.

"Promise me, child of Alice, you will kill her."

"Kill who?"

"The Red Queen."

"Why?"

"She did this. She ruined Underland."

"Wonderland."

"Underland."

"Right. But what did she do?"

"She turned the good things evil. She opened the border between her land and the White Queen's. She wants everyone dead. And she wants you to die."

"But he was so kind."

"Kindness is deceiving."

"But why would she want me dead?"

He looked at me with grim eyes. "Because you're the only thing sane left here. You're the only one who could tear down her empire."

My mind began whirring. "But how could I?"

"Because you have the trust of the creatures here."

"Any other reason?"

"She will break the border between your land and this one. Only after you are dead."

"Any way she could do it before then?"

"Just if she had your blood."

"When I was transported to her castle, I was bleeding."

"Then she will break the border... And nobody will be safe
