It's been a month since Jaxson kidnapped Shiloh. The Lapierre family didn't celebrate Christmas that year as Marianne was too broken with heart ache for her missing son.

Those who were regulars at the Starbucks in town were starting to get used to the new girl who replaced the missing redhead.

There was a donation box with his missing person photo in place of the tip jar.

The box filled up rather quickly and had to be emptied out at least once a week since he'd vanished. The money went towards his family who wanted to hire a private investigator since the Wolfpine police were tiptoeing around the case and getting nowhere.

Robert was upset when the chief of police told him the people involved were way too high up for sloppy work to be done. His son was missing and the police chief seemed keener on appeasing the members of the upper class of Wolfpine than finding his son.

The town was quite divided on what should be done.

Many people agreed that the police shouldn't point any fingers without concrete evidence.

Others sided with the Lapierre family in wanting to find the missing boy as quickly as possible.

There have been two searches through the forests surrounding Wolfpine and no bodies were discovered meaning there was a chance Shiloh was still alive and the case remained active meaning the police still hoped to find the boy alive.

Throughout the month Shiloh and Jaxson spoke more. Shiloh had no choice but to speak to the man since he was the only person the redhead saw day in and day out.

Shiloh learned that Jaxson was 5 years older than him.

The man that kidnapped him was only 23 years old and it blew Shiloh's mind that someone as young as Jaxson would do something so insane.

Shiloh also learned that Jaxson had an older brother who was 31 and Jared, the youngest, was 17, a year younger than Shiloh.

They spoke often about life, Shiloh talked about Alex and Carter and all the shenanigans the three of them used to get into when they were younger.

Jaxson talked about his very free childhood with rarely any parental supervision and how he never really had the opportunity to have loving parents the way Shiloh had.

Hearing Jaxson talk about how his parents basically tossed him aside when Jared was born made the redhead feel sympathetic towards the damaged man. It was clear the man was trying to compensate for what he lacked emotionally but was going about it in the worst possible way.

Jared lived in the same house but he never bothered with Jaxson and the two didn't have a close relationship at all.

Shiloh found it ironic how Jared could literally become the town hero if all he did was decide to walk into Jaxson's room and find Shiloh. But that hasn't happened yet and probably never will.

Shiloh also discovered that every room on the second floor was sound proof which is why even if Jared was home he wouldn't be able to hear a thing.

There were moments between Shiloh and Jaxson where they'd touch or share a glance but before anything could be said or done about it, Shiloh immediately closed himself off.

Even with the strange sexual tension between the two, breaking down Shiloh's walls was a difficult task for Jaxson to accomplish. However, he was making progress.

Shiloh was allowed to move about Jaxson's room without being handcuffed, except at night. Shiloh watched tv, played video games and read. He had thought about trying to communicate to other people via the headset for the video games but Jaxson always made sure to turn off the Wi-Fi so he couldn't connect to the internet.
