20. To fight or not to fight

"It doesn't matter what I show you... you still won't change your mind." Alice states as she harshly pulls her hand away from Aro before turning to Bella. "Now!" She mounts urgently as making Bella act in an instant as she sets her daughter on the russet wolf form of Jacob Black and tell him to take care of her daughter. The slight nod is seen as the wolf realises what she means and takes of with the girl holding on to him on his back.

Aro sends someone after the wolf before Alice makes a move and kicks him under his chin, making him fly all the way back in the crowd... enraged she is taken by several members of the Vultori, pulling her into their group as a prisoner.

"No!" The scream comes from the side, not from the side of the Cullen but not that far of from the Vultori. Everyone's eyes are on her as she dismembers the guard holding her and begins to run. "Let her go!" She demands as she get closer and closer to the group of vampires in darkened cloaks.

"Vanessa no!" The call is to late and to little as she fends of several guards making it closer to the group. Than Aro comes out... running straight at one another they jump in the air at the same time. It all goes fast as Aro lands missing a hand but the girl's body fall down no movement seen.

"NO!" The cry is heard out of the horde of dark cloaks as Alice almost fall down and the break of her heart is heard even several miles away by the running wolf with the little girl. Tears form in his eyes as he knows what the scream means, the same with the little girl on his back.

On the Battle field the world stops for every vampire she had contact with over the last few weeks. They all formed a bond towards the girl... the newborn. Even the two Romanian vampires that only came to lay waist to the Volturi are hit by her loss. She touched every single one of them and as soon as they see her body erupt into flames, they waist no time to begin the battle they have feared.

Carlisle and Esme feel as if they lost a daughter. Emmett, Rose, Jasper and Edward as if they lost they're best friend and sister. Bella feels as if she lost a part of herself. But that doesn't compare to the pure loss Alice feels as she stare numbly at the burning body of her mate. She lost everything in that moment, she lost her love, she lost herself. If it weren't for the two vampires keeping her prisoner, she would've fallen on her knees for the weight the loss is putting on her. But she knows what she has to do... she knows why Vanessa did it. This was the only way they survive, this is the only way they win. So she pushes on, for her family, for her little niece. For the love of her live as she knows this is what she asked of her.

As the battle is being fought many losses are counted, and many surprises prevail. Lea Clearwater, the wolf with an immense hatred towards the vampire kind, makes a sacrifice saving Esme. She knows what the motherly vampire meant to her friend and if there's one vampire she doesn't hate it is Esme. Seth too is lost by the hands of Jane.

Counter that by the fact that Jane is killed by Alice and Sam. Many Volturi guards die as the battle goes on and their most prized possessions are killed first. Then the biggest mistake is made. Aro joins in as he runs towards Bella and Edward. The fight is hard as the couple use their bond to fight the leader of them all. They win and just as the flames begin to catch...

Everything plays of like in the vision I had. This is the way we win. But than one change is made.

"That's your future, that's what you face. Unless you change your mind." I frown slightly as Edward looks at me wide eyed... he did just see me die. He whispers something to the group, so silent it is not heard from where I stand and they all look at me.

It changed. Everything about the vision changed. They didn't know, they didn't look at me that way and Alice didn't say those words. She knows it changed before she came here. I just thought that's it... the only way we win. But I should've kept my mind open to more possibilities, I should've kept searching. But than again... would it have changed if I changed my mind, if my determination changed?
