The day after...
I was doing my homework when Harish appeared in the doorway.
"Hey!" i say.
He walks closer to me in the room.
"So, i forgot to give you your present yesterday, so here it is," Harish says. He takes a red box out of a bag.
He takes a large red box out.
"You didn't have to," I say as i open the box.
It was the most beautiful necklace i had ever seen. It was a silver necklace with a pendant on it formed like a heart.
"Do you like it?" Harish asks.
"Yeah...i love it," I say, and give Harish a kiss on his cheek.
"Can you put it on me?" i ask.
"Yeah of course" Harish replies.
I walk over to the mirror. He takes the necklace and puts it on me.
"It looks beautiful on you," Harish says.
I smile at him in the mirror. He puts his hands around my waist from behind me and hugged me.
Suddenly i hear my mum from downstairs.
"Were home!" My mum shouts.
"I should go" Harish whispers.
"Yeah probably..." i whisper.
Harish gets out of my room.
Later that day...
We were eating dinner. Everyone was at the table, of course, besides Harish. It felt weird he was so close to me, but so far away at the same time. It was weird months ago i would never have thought i would find someone like him. Someone that understood me like he did, and supported me. I gazed over at Harish looking out the window while eating. How could someone be so perfect?
"Are you awake!!!" My dad shouts. I jump as he says it.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm here!" i shout back in irritation.
"Quit staring at nothing," My mum says.
Nothing? I was staring at nothing? If only they knew that i was staring at everything.
"I'm not hungry anymore," i say, and get up.
"What? But you barely ate anything?" My mum says.
As i run up the stairs i wink at Harish. He lets out a smile. It tickles. I had never felt this way about anyone before. It was strange, and a little scary to be honest.
I got upstairs and decided to watch a movie. I felt for a romantic comedy would be describing precisely what i was feeling. I started to watch "The Notebook". One of my favorite movies. Two completely different people fall in love despite their background.
"The notebook" is supposed to be set in South Carolina where the poor Noah Calhoun sees the beautiful Allie Hamilton. He instantly falls in love with her.
I couldn't describe my situation any better.
At the ending Allie returns to Seabrook to find Noah living in the restored house. The two rekindle their relationship and have sex. It was almost that part that made me cry. After that movie, i would always wish that the characters would get together in real life, but after all, it's just a movie. All the movies show us what we wanna see, but never the reality.
