Troye's POV

(A/N: this is unedited, so i will edit in the morning. enjoy! be sure to read A/N at the end too)

"Fancy seeing you here Troye. What a surprise!" Tyler spoke, filling the room with his suave and mellow voice. It had a steady rhythm to it, and forced enthusiasm was dripping from every syllable he uttered. He was drumming his fingers in a constant rhythm against the arm of the chair, one hand focusing on the rhythm, and one hand enclosed around a cup of water. His eyes were closed, mouth curled up ever so slightly in a triumphant smirk. Rolling my eyes, I closed the door behind me and stood awkwardly at the door, shifting my weight between my right and left leg. I didn’t know what I was expecting, but this was definitely not it.

"Please," the bald guy in the room fiddled around with some papers, looking down at them, "Troye is it?"

I nodded. "Ye-"

"It sure is Mr. Koleg." Tyler butted in, opening his eyes. He leaned forward in his seat, the black office chair creaking under his weight, so that his elbows were resting on the table. Pointing at the man in front of him, he smiled and blinked and took a sip of his water, allowing the silence to grow and grow and grow until he finally spoke again. "Troye with an e."

He was making fun of me wasn’t he?

“Well, Troye, please sit down.” He gestured to the identical brown leather chair next to Tyler. “Can I get you anything to drink?”

“No thank you sir, I think I’ll be fine.” I managed to get out as I stumbled over to the chair, tripping over my feet and catching myself on Tyler’s shoulders. It all happened very quickly, and  and sitting down bluntly, not looking at Tyler beside me. I could feel his stare on me, and it took every ounce of self restraint to not stare back at him. Some part of me found him captivating, but most of me just wasn’t ready for things to just be perfectly okay and peachy keen. He had changed, a lot from the looks of it.

“Your name is quite peculiar. How interesting. Is it an Aussie thing? Were you named for anything in particular?”

I shook my head. “It’s more of a unique thing I guess. To be honest, I’m not too sure.”

And that was true.  I had never known why my birth parents had given me the name T-R-O-Y-E, but I wouldn’t trade my name for the world.

“If you don’t mind, I think I know why Mr. With an E over here was named that way.” Tyler insinuated, jabbing a thumb in my direction.

“Oh really?”

I whirled around. Did he really?! He might, I mean, he did know me when I was a lot younger, maybe I told him something I don’t remember now. “What is it?” I asked, trying to contain my excitement. If he really did know, then he would give me a glimpse into my life before.

Tyler took a sip of his drink innocently, his pinky sticking out as he raised the cup to his lips and back down to his lap. He thought about this answer for a moment, looking up and to the left as he pondered how to formulate a response.

“Well, you see, Troye is referring to the city of Troy, right? You know, ancient times and such.”

My face fell. If this was an attempt at sucking up to the principal, couldn’t it wait?

“Ah, quite a connection Mr. Oakley.”

“I wasn’t finished. And in Troy live the Trojans. And Trojan is a brand of condom. So basically, Troye’s parents were indirectly telling him that he’s a condom.”

Silence fell as everyone registered what he had just said. But that was short lived.

The quiet was soon followed by a horrendous sound, one that pierced the ears of everyone that heard - Tyler’s laugh. It was a galliant effort to try and calm himself, but smiles turned to giggles and giggles turned to chortling, and before I even knew it, his shrill cackle had already began.

I interruped him in hopes of getting him to shut up, “Tyler, in what way was is that at all relavant to this situation?”

Tyler calmed down, wiping his tearducts with his index finger, whooping and sighing until a pertinant façade of apathetic boredom had masked any traces of happiness to be found.

Koleg seemed completely and utterly underwhelmed. A look of total indifference glazed over his tired brown eyes. He sighed loudly and reached blindly for his porcelain mug that lay on the side of the table taking a rather drawn out sip, slurping it as he proceeded to set it down carefully. Folding his hands together in thought, he looked from me to Tyler. It seemed as if he was used to Tyler’s antics. “So Troye,”

“With an e…” Tyler muttered quickly, kicking his feet back up opon a desk in the process.

I could see the blue veins in Koleg’s hairless head stick out, and I knew that now was not the time to joke around.

I punched him lightly in the leg. “I heard that, you know. You should be quieter.” I whispered back to him.

He looked at me and his eyes sparkled, but he immediately looked down, his lips parting as if he were going to say something, but instead joining back together in his classic stonefaced manner. He stayed quiet.

Something just felt wrong. I had convinced myself that I would never have to see Tyler again, but here he was. Tangible. In the flesh. I was tempted to reach out and grab a strand of his cotton candy hair, but I was still in denial, still freaking out that he was here.

"Are you planning to say something Sivan? You've been awful quiet."

"What are you even doing here Tyler? Wasn’t this supposed to be a private meeting?"

He pursed his lips and leaned back in his seat, returning to the position that I first found him in. "Koleg, would you like to do the honors?"

Mr. Koleg coughed abruptly, making it obvious that he had had enough of the teenage antics. "You guys have met before haven't you?"

Tyler shrugged, his mouth crinkling in a way that suggested total indifference to the situation.

“Yeah. Briefly.” I responded.

“Well that is fantastic, because I have some news for you…”
